My Second Impression Of Citi Field

Yesterday, I attended my second game ever at Citi Field with one of my good buddies, Jason. Being that he has been a season ticket holder, he was kind enough to give me a more in depth tour of the ball park than I the one that I had first got when I went during Opening Week.

Just as I had done the first time, we entered via the Jackie Robinson Rotunda.

As much as I endorse the fact that the team pay homage to the legendary player. I can’t help but get the feeling that the Rotunda is getting a bit old.

I mean, how many times are we going to watch the same video loop play over and over again and look at the same pictures over and over again.

I think it would’ve been nicer to devote a portion of the Rotunda to Mets players, who broke into the sport due to Robinson’s accomplishments.

After we got through the crowded rotunda we made our way to our seats which were in the Left Field Promenade section. The seats weren’t the best, but they weren’t all that terrible.

One main complaint I have is that from where we were sitting the only portion of the outfield that we could clearly see was right field.

Before the game got under way we walked around in search of something to eat. Food seems to be one of the ballparks biggest strengths. There is just about something for everyone. We ended up settling on a place out behind the scoreboard called Mamas of Corona.

Mama’s of Corona is a well known Italian restaurant in Queens that has a couple of stands inside the ballpark. I ended up getting a Turkey and Mozzarella sandwich, which I can honestly say may have been the best food I have ever gotten at a stadium. Considering that the sandwich was being sold in stadium, the nine dollar price tag wasn’t all that outrageous.

For those of you wanting to try out the Shake Shack, which is almost always highlighted during SNY broadcasts I would have to recommend hitting it well before the game starts or skipping it entirely because the line was extremely long once the Pre Game started and remained that way for the duration of the game.

We tended to move around a lot through the game, which was nice, especially since the game was a blow out.
