My Thoughts on the 2010 New York Mets: Center Field

The New York Mets have one of the best center fielders in all of baseball. He is an amazing five-tool outfielder who consistently puts up great numbers. He is a real pro.

Ever since Carlos Beltran came to the Mets, I think that he has been underappreciated.  He has just recently been named to Sports Illustrated's all-decade team, as the starting center fielder.

Some of the reasons that he is on the all-decade team include: He consistently hits for a great average and good power. He steals a bunch of bases and is safe an amazing 90 percent of the time. He is also the best defensive outfielder the league has seen in a long time.

Beltran, like many of the other Met players, had a tough season last year. His season was plagued with injuries, but that didn't keep him from producing solid numbers.

Beltran is going to be one of the biggest parts to the Mets' success next year. He is a vital part of the team. I believe that his play will help the Mets get back to the playoffs.

I don't have much to say about Carlos Beltran, other than he is an amazing player and that all Mets fans should appreciate him. There are plenty of teams out there that would do anything to have a player as good as Beltran.

A big complaint from many Mets fans about Beltran is that he isn't a good leader. He has a been a quiet guy for the majority of his career. The biggest thing that he said was probably back in 2008, when he said the the Mets were the team to beat.

We all know how that season shaped up. Beltran has been saying that the Mets players must stay in good condition this winter. He makes it clear that he is hoping that they can eat healthier and work out.

He is aware of everything that happened last year, and is facing the facts. The Mets were not prepared for 2009, and that might have been why they got hit so hard with injuries.

You never know, but Beltran's message to the team may be the deciding factor if they go to playoffs next year. I hope that the Mets listen to him, and I know for sure that Beltran will stay in shape and have a great season next year.
