The New York Yankees beat the Detroit Tigers by a score of 4-3.
Do you get the title though? Grading "Jobination." It's like, grading "domination" except I put Joba and domination together.
Joba has been dominant with strikeouts in spring training.
It's 79 degrees in Tampa. I'm jealous because I like the heat. It's 50 here in Morris Plains so it's not that bad.
A—Joba Chamberlain
He gave up one earned run but struck out five batters in 3.1 innings. Joba probably has the best stuff in the league. I don't feel there's any pitcher better than him. The thing you have to worry about is if he'll last the season.
A—Mariano Rivera
He pitched a perfect inning while striking out two. I can't believe he's getting better with age. It's not like he's taking PED's because he's too skinny to do that. As long as he can keep hitting at least 93 mph on the radar gun, he'll last in the major leagues.
B+—Mark Teixeira
Like I said yesterday, Tex will fill up the stat sheet every day. He had another good game going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
B—Melky Cabrera
Nothing sexy about Cabrera's line but it was solid. He went 2-for-3 and had a stolen base. The worst thing for Cabrera today was Gardner subbing for him and getting a hit.
D—Xavier Nady
He went 0-for-3 and that's it. He didn't contribute anything. At least he didn't strike out because if he did, it would of been an F.
D—Edwar Ramirez
He comes in the game and blows it but got the win. He better not clown around when the regular season starts.
Player of the Game: Joba Chamberlain
Joba has pitched really well since getting off to a rocky start. I feel he's ready for the regular season. I know I am. I don't want to go through another week of spring training.
