NL West Preview: San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants ended last year with a 72-90 record, a tiny improvement from 2007. This year they'll finish third in the West because the hitting will not be there this year. Edgar Renteria will be a bright spot along with Aaron Rowand and Fred Lewis. They will be expecting to call up catcher Buster Posey who was drafted last year along with Madison Bumgarner a left handed pitcher.

Speaking up pitching Tim Lincecum will be looking to have another marvelous performance coming off an 18-5 record with a 2.62 ERA. Matt Cain will also looking to be adding an extra punch and he needs to do it because he had an 8-14 record last year. Barry Zito needs to come through as well with a 10-17 record. Newly signed Randy Johnson will be going for his 300th this year.

Keep an eye on: Pablo Sandoval, c/1b/3b

Pablo Sandobal can play anywhere and will in the lineup starting this year. Sandoval played in 41 games for the Giants last year batting .345 with three homers and 24 RBIs.
