It can't get worse, can it?
Padre management keeps telling the fans that all is well, and the plan is proceeding, and we should all pony up our cash, to watch this great team take its place in the annals of history. Right, and American Idol will give us the next Led Zeppelin.
Last night's pathetic no hit debacle in San Francisco serves to underscore how big a load of bull the front office is trying to sell us. I am a Padre's fan, and I am utterly disgusted with the current state of lies that is the Pads. Breakfast is the latest ploy to get us to watch this team, BREAKFAST. "This is a breakfast town and we want to own it". I read this quote today in the UT from some Padre lackey, and I nearly tossed my own. What happened to actually trying to win? What happened to finding real players? What happened to the sad brains of the people who actually are buying into this crap?
Its going to take more than cornflakes and a mimosa to fix this mess, which is truly a new low in San Diego sports history. The Padres have become the Clippers of baseball, not an honor. Maybe for an encore, the Pads can announce that they want to own Midnight snack time. Or maybe they can have a constipation Sunday, with free bran for all those fans who choked down that stellar breakfast that cost them fifty dollars each.
John Moores should grab the microphone and apologize to us all, but I think its more likely that Ray Kroc will rise from the grave and beat his lying self. The sound you all hear from under the ground is Ray digging his way up to do just that.
Look up Padre fans, after all, we just became the breakfast kings.
