Phillies Manager Ryne Sandberg Claims He Snacked on Cat Food as a Kid

Philadelphia Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg can't handle Citi Field's Shake Shack, but his stomach apparently has no problem with cat food. Funny world.

It's tough to question anything Sandberg has done in his life given how much success he has had. The Chicago Cubs legend had a career good enough to earn a spot in Cooperstown, and he has now worked his way into a managing job.

However, he recently admitted to something just a tad out of the ordinary.

Sandberg admitted, via CBS Philly's Chris Stigall, that he ate Friskies cat food as a kid. Accidentally eating it once may be understandable, but the Phillies skipper revealed that it happened for a relatively long time:

I did that as a youngster, maybe four or five years old, maybe six years old. I don't know. I guess I was hungry. I still remember the crunchiness of it was the biggest thing. This wasn't a one-time thing either. This went on for about a year as a little snack.

Although people food occasionally makes him sick, it sounds like Sandberg had no problem eating cat food.
