According to CSNPhilly.com and Henry Schulman, the Philadelphia Phillies have acquired left-handed pitcher Jack Taschner from the San Francisco Giants for catcher Ronny Paulino.
Tashner, 30, will likely be used as the second lefty coming out of the bullpen since J.C. Romero was suspended for the first 50 games.
The Phillies acquired Paulino in December, hoping he could give catcher Chris Coste a run for his money as the back-up catcher. Unfortunately, he wasn't what they expected so a demotion or a trade was imminent.
