If there is one thing we know about Major League Baseball, it is that trying to predict what will happen with teams and individual players from a year-to-year basis is a fool's errand. That goes doubly true when you are talking about prospects.
One big reason that the minor leagues and prospects have exploded in popularity over the last decade, aside from being a cheap way to see the next great wave of players at a much cheaper price than when they make it to the big leagues, is because of the possibility of what could be.
At this point in spring training, all of the big talent-evaluating sources have unveiled their Top 100 Prospect lists for the 2013 season. Fans and analysts have devoured that information, trying to see where the next crop of superstars stands and how long before they are in the big leagues.
With that said, all of those evaluations that fans are reading about right now describe what a prospect did last year. It is time to start looking ahead at what the cream of the prospect crop are going to do as they make their way closer to the big leagues in 2013.
Some of the players on this list will be in the big leagues very soon, while others are going to take at least another year before getting the call to The Show, but all of them have the talent to be among the best players in the game.
Here are our predictions for what to expect from the top prospects in baseball this season.
