I don't care about the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry, at all. I barely care about the Yankees and Red Sox as individual teams.
The truth is and I hate to break it to you Boston and New York fans, but no one outside of New England cares about your "rivalry."
There are far better rivalries out there.
When the NL West isn't so down, the Arizona-San Francisco matchup is always much richer with animosity than any given Boston Bandwagon vs. New York Bankees game is.
Unfortunately though, rivalry doesn't really exist in baseball anymore, thanks to constant trades.
I find it hard to really call the Red Sox and Yankees a rivalry. I mean, how many former Sox do the Yankees have now?
And players that were once established players somewhere else are playing for both teams and really didn't have the time to hate each other (Mark Teixeira, John Smoltz)
I simply don't care for either of these teams, nor do I care about any of the players from either Boston or New York. To me, when a player I like becomes a member of the Sox or Yanks, I just stop liking them, as do many others.
Gimme a Cubs-Cardinals game any day over the Yankees and Sox and I'm set.
I'm sure the majority of sports' fans feel the same about this overrated "rivalry."
