We've reached roughly the midway point of the 2016 MLB season, and that means it's time to hand out report card grades to all 30 teams.
So what exactly goes into grading a team's performance thus far?
The lazy way to do things would be to simply grade teams based on their win-loss record, but that's not a fair assessment considering each team enters the year with different goals and expectations.
For a team expected to be a postseason contender, win-loss record is the biggest priority and the driving factor behind how it was graded.
However, for a rebuilding team not expected to contend, it's more about developing young talent and cultivating trade value from the veteran players still on the roster.
So with that in mind, here's a look at how all 30 teams graded out over the first half of the season.
Think of a "C" grade as meaning a team has performed right in line with expectations. Anything above a "C" means a team has exceeded expectations, and anything below a "C" means a team has disappointed.
