Is it me or is there an update on Cliff Lee’s health every week? I just wish he would come back already so I can talk about his pitching instead of his injuries.
Well, it sounds like I am going to be talking about Lee’s injuries for at least another couple of weeks, because now it appears Lee won’t be joining the Seattle Mariners until May.
“Safely, I think we’re looking at, hopefully, the first week in May,” said Mariners’ manager Don Wakamatsu. “Again, anything before that, I don’t think he’ll be built up and we won’t feel comfortable.”
Lee is supposed to throw 45 pitches tomorrow and then a simulated game next Friday. Hopefully when Lee returns to the Mariners, they will be playing better than they are now. Right now the Mariners look terrible. They dropped to 1-4 on the season after losing to the Texas Rangers last night. The legendary Colby Lewis shut them down. Not good.
