Spinners Fans to Step to the Plate; Create Logo for 2011 All-Star Game

The Lowell Spinners, Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have announced that the team and the city of Lowell have been awarded the 2011 New York-Penn League All-Star Game and are kicking off preparation with a contest to create a logo for the event.

Spinner Vice President and General Manager Tim Bawmann shared the news and was excited to announce plans for the upcoming logo contest.

"Two years ago the league held a contest to find a new mark for the New York-Penn League and the quality of the entries was remarkable," explained Bawmann. "We are very excited to see what the creative minds of baseball's best fans come up with this time around."

"We don't want to limit the creativity of the artists," said Bawmann. "We're excited to see the submissions."

Bawmann explained that the logo will be used throughout the promotion of the game and on all All-Star Game literature.

All serious artists are encouraged to submit their creative renditions to tbawmann@lowellspinners.com .

Designs are due no later than April 1, 2010 and must be done in Vector Format using Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand, saved at the approximate size of 5".

The winning artist will receive a prize pack for the All-Star weekend, including hotel accommodations for the game, access to all of the events associated with the game, an All-Star jersey, four Gator Pit passes for the All-Star Game, and the ability to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game.

The logo should include elements of the league, the organization and city, but there are no set requirements.

The contest begins immediately and concludes April 1, 2010. The Spinners office will select the finalists and fans will select the ultimate winner.
