Steve Clevenger Suspended: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Seattle Mariners announced they have suspended catcher Steve Clevenger without pay for the remainder of the regular season after he sent a series of offensive tweets on Thursday night. 

"The Seattle Mariners are very disappointed at the tweets posted on Steve Clevenger’s account," general manager Jerry Dipoto said in a statement, according to the Seattle Times' Matt Pentz. "While he is certainly free to express himself, his tweets do not in any way represent the opinions of the Seattle Mariners. We strongly disagree with the language and tone of his comments."
