Texas Rangers Sweep Boston Red Sox in First Series of MLB Season

Off to a rip roaring start for the Texas Rangers.

Not only did it start off with Ian Kinsler hitting a home run in the leadoff spot on Friday, but he did it again on Saturday, becoming the first man in MLB history to accomplish that feat.

Nelson Cruz and Kinsler have hit a home run in all three of the games so far this season.

Adrian Beltre belted out a “Grand Salami” on Saturday as well.

Going into Sunday’s game against the Red Sox, the Rangers had a chance to sweep early against a team that could arguably be in contention for a playoff spot if not the AL pennant this season.

David Murphy, Ian Kinsler, Mike Napoli and Nelson Cruz all hit solo home runs to help complete a sweep of the Boston Red Sox.

The Rangers have hit 11 home runs in the first three games of the season against a tough competitor in the Red Sox.

Pitching was divine today, as we saw Matt Harrison pitch a gem, giving up only five hits, one earned run and striking out eight in seven innings of work. Nice to see him get to the seventh inning.

Neftali Feliz pitched a perfect ninth inning to secure the win for the Rangers 5-1.

Hardly what anyone could’ve expected from the Rangers going into a season being under the pressure of being the AL Champions of 2010.

On a good note for the Red Sox, Jarrod Saltalamacchia picked off two Rangers, Kinsler and Daivd Murphy, at first base.
