Breakdown
The Twins signed Brad Tippett as an undrafted free agent on January 4th, 2006. He pitched great in Rookie Ball and has continued his success through Single-A. Tippett doesn't light up the radar gun but has impeccable control. Tippett's strikeout numbers will probably drop a little as he moves through the Minor Leagues, but that will be acceptable as long as he keeps his BB/9 under wraps. He has worked as both a starter and reliever throughout his career but threw 146 innings in 2009, fifth most in the system, and should remain a starter in 2010. He may be able to advance more quickly as a reliever, much like Alex Burnett, but Fort Myers' rotation may be in need of starters with David Bromberg, Tyler Robertson and others likely moving up to Double-A New Britain.

2010 Outlook
Tippett will be in Fort Myers where he will help anchor a Fort Myers Miracle rotation. I expect that he'll be there for the entire season.
