Win FREE Boston Red Sox Tickets And Memorabilila

The first contest period in the Fourth Annual www.SOX1FAN.com Comment Contest ends one week from today. The second contest period begins on Opening Day. The author of the best comment that is left on the site during spring training will win a FREE pair of Red Sox tickets and autographed memorabilia.

If you frequent the website, you know I give away free Red Sox tickets and free autographed memorabilia every month, beginning in Spring Training and continuing through the end of August. Additionally, as I have done in the past, I wrap up the contest with the designation of my “Commenter of the Year”, in September. That person is chosen from among the first six winners, and he / she wins a second pair of tickets and an additional piece of autographed memorabilia.

I am proud to announce that both of our amazing contest sponsors from the last couple of years have returned for the 2010 season:

Higs Tickets , of Boston, MA, will provide all of the tickets awarded during the contest. Higs has two locations in Boston, at 69 Causeway Street (across from TDBank Garden) and at 514 Commonwealth Avenue (in Kenmore Square). SOX1FAN.com contest winners will pick up their tickets at the Kenmore Square location on game day.

New England Picture Company , of Manchester, NH, will provide all of the autographed items awarded during the contest. NEPC is headquartered at 491 E. Industrial Park Drive, in the Queen City, and has retail locations at several malls throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. They will ship merchandise directly to the winners.

You may be wondering how the contest works … well, it’s really very simple.

The contest rewards the reader who leaves the best comment on the website during each comment period.

What constitutes the best comment? In reality, you decide. It might be the most interesting story, or the funniest anecdote, or the most informative factoid, or the most persuasive argument in a debate. You don’t have to agree with my perspective—you just have to provide the comment that adds the most to the discourse on the website each month.

There are six contest periods: spring training, April, May, June, July, and August. Readers may win only one of the contest periods. Then, in early September, I designate one of the six earlier winners as the Commenter of the Year.

The winner of each comment period will win a pair of tickets to a Red Sox game in the month following the period in which they won; for example, the spring training winner will receive tickets for a game in April, the April winner will receive tickets for a game in May, and so on. (NOTE: Higs Tickets will provide each winner with a list of games from which he/she can choose).

Additionally, the winner will receive an autographed picture of a Red Sox player, professionally framed and matted. (NOTE: NE Picture Company will provide each winner with a list of players from which to choose).

The Commenter of the Year will receive a pair of tickets to a game in September and an autographed baseball (again, contest sponsors will provide the COY with a list of games / players to choose from).

How To Submit Your Entry

Enter once or enter 100 times each month, it’s up to you. There is no limit to the number of times anyone may enter.

If you see an article you wish to comment on, just click on the title of the article. The website will bring you to a new page on which the article is followed by a comment box. Write a comment and then submit it.

That’s all there is to it, except that you must provide your real name and your real e-mail address so that I can contact you if (when) you win.

(NOTE: you will need a driver’s license to pick up your tickets, and you will need to provide a home / work mailing address to which the item can be shipped). No purchase is necessary… of course, I’m not selling anything so there is nothing to buy.

All I ask is that you patronize the contest sponsors. My friends at Higs Tickets can provide you with the best tickets for sporting events, concerts, etc. Likewise, my friends at NEPC have a tremendous array of memorabilia from the Patriots, Celtics and Bruins, as well as the Red Sox.

So please say thanks to John and Jeff by giving them a shot at your business when you feel inspired to spend some Benjamins!

Thanks…And good luck!
