St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon officially went platinum.
Major League Baseball announced on Friday night that the two won the Platinum Glove Award, which is awarded to the best defender in each respective league based on fan voting:
Molina has long been considered the best defensive catcher in baseball, and he owns seven straight Gold Glove Awards to prove it. This is the third time that the Cardinals star has brought home the Platinum Glove, previously winning in 2011 and 2012.
