Yankees and Red Sox Fans: Keep Praying, Because the Rays Are For Real

Dear fans of the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees,

Keep praying.

Pray that the Rays are not for real, but I'm here to tell you they are.

The Rays finished with 97 wins last year, and will many will be quick to say they will regress from that number, it's not likely to happen.  Not with their young stars in the making.

The Rays lineup this year:

C - Dioner Navarro.  A 25-year-old All-Star in 2008 is likely entering his prime.  Sorry Yankee fans, you're stuck worrying whether or not Posada can still play the position.

1b - Carlos Pena- Gold-golve defense and 25-to-20-HR potential every year.

2b - Akinori Iwamura - Half of the double-play crew.

SS - Jason Bartlet - Other half of the double-play crew

3b - Evan Longoria- All-Star rookie in 2008, and at only 24 years old, look for him to only get better.  Also flashes some pretty leather.

LF- Carl Crawford - He had an off-year with injuries, but now that he has his legs back, watch out.

CF - B.J. Upton- Super star in the making.  If his shoulder is 100 percent, expect a monster 2009.

RF - Admittedly weak with a platoon of Gabe Gross and Gabe Kapler—the Gabe platoon.

The starting 5:

1. James Shields (Ace)

2. Scott Kazmir (Ace on many teams)

3. Matt Garza (Ace on a bad team.  A No. 3 on are team)

4.Andy Sonnanstine (Our weakest pitcher)

5. Davied Price, Jeff Niemann, Jason Hammel  (Price is an ace in the making , Niemann is forever injured, but throws in the mid-90s, standing in at 6'9", and Jason Hammel is not as good as any of the first two, but out of opitons.

As you can see, Yankee and Red Sox fans, keep praying.
