Alex Rodriguez is having his surgery today. ... Mariano Rivera rejoined the Yankees after watching Panama get bounced out of the WBC. He threw 30 pitches this morning in a bullpen session. Peter Abraham said his stuff "had a lot more pop than he did the other day." When asked how it went, Rivera said, "Tremendous." ... Peter also reports that Jorge Posada worked on his throws to second base this morning, making a dozen throws, and said he "felt great."
