Yankees-Phillies: Grading The Massacre

Wow, what domination. The Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 12-0. How could I hand out an “F” or even a “C” for that matter?

A+—Joba Chamberlain

He pitched three scoreless innings while giving up two hits and striking out three. This is good news for me because I drafted Joba Chamberlain in my fantasy baseball draft last night.

A+—Kei Igawa

Is he ever going to give up a run this spring? I hope he makes the roster, he's looking very good. He pitched three innings and had the same exact stat line as Joba Chamberlain.

A+—Cody Ransom

He had a perfect game going 2-for-2, 2 R, BB. It's looking more and more like the Yankees won't need to find another player to take A-Rod's place until he comes back.

A+—Nick Swisher

I don't like the fact that I drafted Xavier Nady in my fantasy baseball draft last night and he might get beat out by Swisher to play right-field. He's making a case to start by going 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Speaking of Nady...

A+—Xavier Nady

He went 2-for-4, 2 R, RBI. I hope he can keep this up.

A—Brett Gardner

He's finding a way to get on base and score. He scored twice today while also driving in a run. Gardner could possibly be the best lead-off guy in the game. The Yankees could have a budding superstar on their hands and not even know it.

Player of the Game: Joba Chamberlain

Of course I'm showing a little bias because I want to see him succeed, but his numbers tell the story. You can't mess with three scoreless innings. You "Can't Touch This” like MC Hammer.
