Cleveland Indians: Time to Put Up or Shut Up for Manny Acta and the 2011 Tribe

“The development was done last year... It’s time to play to win every day. That’s our mentality, and our expectations are that: building on the way we played in the second half of the season. We’re expecting to win.”

That quote from Indians manager Manny Acta, while a bit old (quoted in the New York Times on March 3), stands in stark contrast to the outlook of most Indians fans. Most of us are a jaded, bitter bunch expecting another flirtation with 100 losses.

Kansas City Royals: Long Shot Tim Collins Makes Royal Cut for Opening Day Roster

I'm writing this article as a follow-up to MLB Prospects: Kansas City Royals' Tim Collins Pitching Taller Than He Really Is.

5' 7", 175-pound Tim Collins wasn't on the 40-man roster when camp opened up for the Kansas City Royals on February 14, in Surprise, AZ. In fact, Collins wasn't even drafted.

He will, however, be on the team's opening day roster as Kansas City hosts the the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

2011 MLB Preseason Preview: Cleveland Indians—AL Central

Cleveland Indians (2010 record: 69-93)

If there is little reason to buy a ticket in Houston, there is even less reason to buy a ticket in Cleveland. The Indians did very little this winter in terms of improving the roster…and since everyone else in the division is as good or better than they were last year, the upcoming campaign is not looking promising.

MLB: Like it or Not, the Detroit Tigers' GM/Manager Tandem Will Return Past 2011

They are the Frick and Frack of baseball in Detroit. Some would call them Laurel and Hardy; on a good day, they're Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

It's gotten to the point that when you see either Dave Dombrowski or Jim Leyland, you're half-surprised not to see them joined at the hip.

They're two peas in a pod. Twin sons of different mothers.

Chicago White Sox: Six Arguments to Win Any White Sox/Cubs Debate

Yes! Baseball season is almost upon us. We all know what that means here in Chicago.

It means going to the ballpark on a hot summer day, watching game after game with friends on a daily basis and, oh yeah, countless arguments over which team is the better team, the White Sox or the Cubs.

Anyone who is a fan of either team knows how fun these arguments are, but also how heated they could get. I guess that's what makes baseball so exciting here in Chicago.

2011 Cleveland Indians: Breaking Down the Potential Opening Day Batting Order

It has been announced that outfielder Grady Sizemore will begin the season on the 15-day disabled list. Although this was somewhat expected, it will shake up the batting order come Opening Day for the Cleveland Indians.

Manager Manny Acta has been quiet about where Sizemore will hit when he returns to the lineup, not wanting it to affect how the other players ready themselves for the season.
