Seattle Mariners Next Move Should Be To Re-Sign Adrian Beltre

The Mariners busy offseason continued today when they traded up-and-down pitcher Brandon Morrow to the Blue Jays today for relief pitcher Brandon League and prospect Johermyn Chavez.

This seems like a good move, both pitchers have similar production and the move gives the M's a good bullpen arm and one of Toronto's better position prospects in the process.

The next move for pitching will likely be to acquire a No. 3 pitcher after netting Cliff Lee for the No. 2 spot.

Blue Jays, Mariners Swap Power Arms

The Mariners have been really active this offseason haven’t they?
They continued making moves today, this time doing business with the Toronto Blue Jays.

As reported by FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal , the Blue Jays have traded RHP Brandon League to the Mariners in exchange for RHP Brandon Morrow.

It's Great To Be Left-Handed: Darren Oliver Finds A New Home

One of the many skills I have, is the ability to give advice.

Any office I have ever worked in, my co-workers have always come to me for career, life advice, etc…Why this is, I have no idea. Perhaps I look like I know what I am talking about.

I also get stopped at least three times a week walking the streets of New York City and get asked to help with directions. It’s guaranteed. Walk with me in New York and someone will come up to me and ask me where like Union Square is?

How Darren Oliver Could Impact the Texas Rangers

Talk about coming full circle: 17 years after Darren Oliver began his career with the Texas Rangers, it looks as though Oliver will be returning to the Rangers.

The Texas Rangers are nearing completion of a one-year deal to add LHP Darren Oliver to the bullpen, two sources said Sunday night.

Oliver, 39, has been used as a reliever for the last four years and has found significant success in that role.

Does the Coco Crisp Signing Make Sense for the Oakland A's?

Late Saturday night, the Athletics and Coco Crisp came to terms on a one year pact worth $4.5-$5 million dollars . The deal set off some heated discussion in the blogosphere, namely, what in the world is Billy Beane doing? For one, ESPN's Rob Neyer is not a fan of the signing:

The Market for Adrian Beltre Takes Another Hit

While Scott Boras patiently waits for some team to offer Adrian Beltre a four-year deal worth around $10 million annually, the market for Beltre is simply not developing at this point.

And to make matters worse, the Red Sox, who were one of the few teams interested in Beltre that could come close to giving him the contract he wanted, might not be in the market for a third baseman anymore. The reason? The Mike Lowell to Texas trade is was cancelled yesterday:

Should MLB Terminate San Francisco Giants' Rights to San Jose for the Athletics?

Let me say to begin that I have long dreamed that the Oakland Athletics would move to my hometown of San Jose.

The issue has long been that the San Francisco Giants "own" the rights to the San Jose market, which in my opinion is anachronistic.

The San Francisco ownership of the San Jose market is from a time before San Jose became the technological powerhouse of Silicone Valley, and one of the largest cities in America, larger even than San Francisco.

Milton Bradley Traded to Mariners; Johnny Damon's Tenure with Yankees Over?

The Seattle Mariners, having already signed third baseman Chone Figgins and acquired starting pitcher Cliff Lee this offseason, took a huge gamble, trading the horrid Carlos Silva to the Cubs for the dysfunctional Milton Bradley.
