Atlanta Braves' Bats Showing Some Unexpected Power

Despite being home to the all-time home run king, the Atlanta Braves have never been known for their ability to hit the ball out of the park. They are somewhat better known as the "Anti-Yankees," if you will. They have country accents, less money, and very little power, but they have still found ways to to win.

Defense Declining: The Atlanta Braves' Newest "Biggest Problem"

"I don't know which is more discouraging, [the Braves' defense] or Chickens."
--EB White

Okay.

Maybe I took some creative liberties with that EB White quote (he was really talking about literature).

And maybe that wasn't as funny as I thought it would be when I googled "discouraging quotes."

And maybe I am just too lazy to get rid of what is becoming an introduction full of incessant rambling.

Mike Minor to Debut, Follow Jurrjens and Hanson to Rookie Success

In 2008, it was Jair Jurrjens. In 2009, it was Tommy Hanson. Now 2010 is here and the Braves are in need of a rookie pitcher to fill a void.

With Kris Medlen injured and Kenshin Kawakami trying to stretch himself out after rotting away in the bullpen for the past month, the Atlanta Braves will turn to highly touted prospect Mike Minor to start game one of their series with the Houston Astros.

Freddie Freeman in Waiting Game: The Fantasy Fix's AAA Farm Report

From the big bats of Juan Francisco and Freddie Freeman to the tested arm of Jeanmar Gomez—there are always more players waiting for the call-up. Let's take a peek…

The Atlanta Braves Are in a Slump: Troy Glaus Is Not To Blame

The Atlanta Braves have been due for a slump for a little over two months now. Well, that slump has finally arrived and it just so happens that the Braves start losing when the Phillies start winning. Now that Atlanta's division lead has almost completely evaporated, it is time for Braves fans to start looking for a scapegoat and the most popular candidate so far is First Baseman Troy Glaus.

Tom Glavine: A Look Back at an Atlanta Braves Icon

On Friday, August 6, the Atlanta Braves will retire number 47, the number that Tom Glavine wore while pitching the majority of his career in Atlanta.

Drafted in the second round back in 1984, Glavine decided passed up a chance at a hockey career (he was a fourth-round pick in the NHL’s draft) to pitch for the Atlanta Braves.

New York Mets: Amateur psychiatrists are having a field day

I love when fans say that there's no life on a baseball team, no sense of urgency. That a team didn't come to play.

It's baseball. You either get hits or you don't. You either make outs or you don't.

It has nothing to do with fire, or urgency, or chemistry. It's all about production.

Braves Minor League Team Combines for No-Hitter

You know things are going well when both pitchers in a game get more hits than the other team combined.

On Monday, Atlanta Braves' highly touted pitching prospect, Julio Teheran, combined with reliever Tyrelle Harris to no-hit Mobile in a 2-0 victory .

Teheran and Harris combined to go 2-for-3 at the plate, and worked around two errors and four walks to shut down Mobile.

Martin Prado to the DL: Fantasy Pickup Options

What a rough year for second basemen! As if fantasy owners didn't have enough trouble working around Chase Utley, Dustin Pedroia and Ian Kinsler injuries–now Martin Prado, one of the years best runs producers, goes down with a broken knuckle on his pinkie. So assuming you were playing Prado at second and not third, who are the waiver wire options to replace all those wonderful runs and sweet batting average? Let's take a look…
