On Tuesday night, the Baltimore Orioles are going to be partying like it's 1997.

With an 8-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, Buck Showalter's squad captured its ninth victory in 10 games and moved 13.5 games in front of Toronto in the AL East, effectively locking up the division.

The Baltimore Orioles have been on a tear in the past week, winning eight of their last nine games and further lengthening their division lead in the AL East to 12.5 games over the Toronto Blue Jays.

At this point, the Orioles have managed to dwindle down their magic number to clinch the division all the way to just one game, which means they could capture the division crown as early as Tuesday night.

If misery loves company, the Los Angeles Angels just got company.

The Baltimore Orioles are running away with the American League East, but their chances at reaching the World Series once the postseason begins took a major hit Friday. Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports and Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun provided an update regarding Manny Machado’s health:

The Baltimore Orioles (71-52) are soaring high as of late and have been on a roll in August, acquiring a record of 11-5 so far this month.

As the calendar turns, MLB rosters will expand, allowing teams to add on some depth at crucial positions and enabling for some of their star players to take a few more days off than usual.

The Baltimore Orioles have been one of the hottest teams in baseball since the All-Star Break, taking all but one series since then and establishing the best division lead in all of baseball.

Even though most of the credit must be given to the personnel who are actually playing the game, some of the credit needs to be given to the man in the dugout.

Now that the MLB season has hit the post-trading deadline stretch, all eyes are on division races, wild-card spots and the excitement of marching toward the postseason.

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the teams that are positioned nicely, currently holding the largest division lead in the league at six games. If the O's just keep doing what they're doing, they shouldn't have to worry about losing their spot atop the AL East.
