Merry Christmas: Orioles Surpise Fans With Gonzalez, Atkins Signings

Last year at this time, if you remember, I bought into the falsified Tex to Baltimore rumors hook, line, and sinker.

John Lackey Dons a Boston Red Sox Uniform: As One Story Ends, Another Begins

If you were listening very closely, you would've heard a determined cheer from a small group of San Francisco Giant fans when John Lackey signed with the Boston Red Sox.

When the 31-year-old right-hander decided to take the (most) money and run to the East Coast, the last hanging chad from that brutal 2002 World Series was clipped and the October cluster-fornication could be forgotten, once and for all.

The New York Baseball All-Decade Team: Position Players

We are only a few weeks until it is the end of this decade, I was thinking and I decided that I would make the New York Baseball All-Decade Team.

This decade was great for the Yankees in winning two World Series but not great for the Mets in only making the playoffs a couple of times.

In fact, in the first World Series of the decade the two New York teams faced eachother in the Subway Series, The Yankees won the series in five games with Derek Jeter being named the MVP.

In this decade, both New York teams had players that will forever be a part of the franchises' history such as Piazza, Jet

MLB Offseason Rumors: Cheap Alternative to Strip Clubs

In the mood for a nice tease, but don't feel like dropping by the bank to get some singles and let the wife know about your "very important work project?"

Go to ESPN.com and click on the rumor central area. Or, mlbrtraderumors.com.

Same old blood rush without the touch.

In reality, the baseball season never ends.

Advice to Kansas City Royals Fans: Start Drinking Early

So, I’ve been sitting around thinking about the Jason Kendall acquisition.  You really have to hand it to Dayton Moore.

He shrewdly snagged a 36-year-old catcher who slugs like Tony Pena, Jr., by making him an offer nobody else would (everyday duty), and then topping it with a $6 million, 2-year contract.

How in the WORLD does he make these acquisitions?

I think it’s fair to say that my faith in GMDM is gone. He’s obviously the second coming of Allard “The Genius” Baird.

Jason Bay And Johnny Damon Find Themselves In Similar Situations

There are a lot of differences between Johnny Damon and Jason Bay. Damon is left-handed and Bay is right-handed. Damon has two World Series rings and Bay has zero. Damon’s game is based primarily on speed and Bay’s game is based primarily on power. Damon is flamboyant and likes to speak his mind, while Bay speaks softly and carries a big stick. Bay and Damon have more similarities than you think, despite some differences.

Damon and Bay are both left fielders. They were both a part of Red Sox Nation.

The Top 10 Pitching Duos In Baseball

Right after the Halladay, Lee trade went through, I got a text from one of my friends asking me, "Best pitching duo in the league, Phils or Mariners?"

This got my thinking about actually did have the best duo. Did the acquisition of Halladay out front? Or would the top of the Mariners rotation beat the field?

All Pitch and No Hit? The Red Sox Build a National League Power

Jason Bay is as good as gone.

Marco Scutaro is an offensive flash in the pan.

Boston billboards should be re-painted to warn Sox fans of the inevitable decline of David Ortiz.

Jacoby Ellsbury is David Dejesus with speed.

J.D. Drew is the most expensive injury-prone outfielder since Ken Griffey Jr. last donned a Reds uniform.

2010 New York Yankees Younger, Cheaper, Better Than 2009 Team

There is much teeth-gnashing among Yankees fans as they mourn the departure of Hideki Matsui and probable loss of Johnny Damon .  Even here at the Bleacher Report, writers accuse management of penny-pinching at the expense of the team on the field .  These writers are wrong.  Brian Cashman's moves have made the 2010 Yankee
