According to Will Carroll from Baseball Prospectus, the Cubs will sign free agent Mike Cameron to play center field as soon as Milton Bradley is moved. Carroll tweets that the Bradley deal has been "imminent for 72 hours."

Cameron will turn 37 in January but is still an above average defender, at least according to a UZR/150 of 10.3, despite a weak arm. He should be a huge improvement over Kosuke Fukudome, who can move back to right field.

To say the Yankees have had it good behind the plate for the majority of their history would be an understatement. 

Dating all the way back to the 1930s, and the Hall of Famer Bill Dickey, the Bronx Bombers have had their share of good fortune from the men who don the tools of ignorance, and the tradition carries on today with the oft-overlooked slugger, Jorge Posada.

One of the feel good stories of the 2009 Arizona Diamondbacks season was the promotion of Reno Aces outfielder Trent Oeltjen to the major league club. Oeltjen immediately became a fan favorite with his contagious smile and his eager attitude.

Oeltjen, from Sydney Australia, appeared in 24 games for the Diamondbacks hitting .243 with three home runs and four RBIs. Nicknamed the “Thunder from Down Under” he had a loyal following of Diamondbacks fans who cheered whenever he appeared in the dugout or on the field.

It should come as no surprise that the Houston Astros are in the hunt for pitchers this offseason.

It’s official…finally.

More than two months after initially agreeing on a deal with a $3.15 million bonus, Miguel Jean is officially a member of the Minnesota Twins organization.

Jean’s application for a work visa was approved Friday by the U.S. Consulate in the Dominican Republic.

Obtaining the visa was the final hurdle that needed to be cleared to finalize the deal.

The Washington Nationals are interested in Mark De Rosa.

The latest news on the Chicago Cubs search for a center fielder is revolving around signing Mike Cameron in the near future.

Cameron, who will be 37 years old at the start of the 2010 season, remains an elite defender in the outfield. Offensively, he really is a hallmark of consistency. 

The 2009 Major League Baseball season ended just about a month ago, and with the New York Yankees capturing their 27th championship, the offseason officially began.

It seems like forever ago, especially for Mets fans, as their favorite team's season was basically over before the leaves even began to change color, but indeed it has only been about a month.

So the hot stove season has basically just begun, and with that said, what the hell are the Mets waiting for?
