How Excited Is Too Excited About The White Sox?

After game one of 162, the White Sox couldn’t look better.

Buehrle and the 'pen made the Cleveland Indians look like, well, the Cleveland Indians.

The lineup showed a perfect combination of power and speed.

And last, but not least, Ozzie made it through one game without starting Omar Vizquel. Kudos all the way around.

The question that comes to mind now is, how excited should we as White Sox fans be about the season?

2010 Opening Day Review: What I Learned From the Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers did their best to stage a ninth inning rally for the over 45,000 fans in attendance at Miller Park yesterday, but Franklin Morales and the Colorado Rockies were just a bit better.

The Brewers brought the tying run to the plate with just one out in the ninth, but both Prince Fielder and Jim Edmonds hit line drives that were caught, and Milwaukee started the 2010 season with a loss.

Cheers and Jeers for the Chicago Cubs, and Other Opening Day Notables

Filed:April 5th, 2010

What were you expecting exactly? Consider me fairly non non-plussed about the Cubs 2010 opener, a 16-5 shellacking by the Atlanta Braves down at Turner Field, for a couple of different reasons actually.

Bucco Blog: A Lot To Like From Pittsburgh Pirates Opening Day

Could you have asked for a better opening day at PNC Park?

The sun was shining, the stadium was filled to capacity, and the Pirates came away with an 11-5 thwomping of the Los Angeles Dodgers, their fourth straight opening day victory.

MLB Opening Day: Dare To Dream

For a day, nothing else matters.  For baseball purists, everything else is put aside and worries about economy and anything else fades away for a fan who dares to dream.

This could be the year.

Between Sunday night, yesterday, and today, thousands of faithful followers pack into a car and head to a place where fantasy can become reality.  A place where a father can bond with his son.  A place where you revisit memories gone by.  A place that, if everything lines up just right, can seem magical.

Opening Day.

2010 Fantasy Baseball Draft Focus: Hitting

Your first round drafts are Albert Pujols (Stl), Hanley Ramirez (Fl), Alex Rodriguez (NYY), Ryan Braun (Mil), Chase Utley (Phil), and Mark Teixeira (NYY). Any fantasy team owner would be happy ending up with one of those guys as their first pick on a snake draft.

For the Atlanta Braves, This Season Just FEELS Different

The air is sticky sweet in Atlanta.

Thick with the buzz from a thawed-out spring, this summer breaks entry to a group of men who will have the inhabitants of this great city by the heartstrings.

This collection of great men, some young (too young to go to the bar, in fact) and some old (old enough to call it quits at 68), will take Atlanta deep into September and maybe, just maybe, show the four-year starved city what October baseball feels like again.

Can Kyle Blanks Protect Adrian Gonzalez in the San Diego Padres Lineup?

With one out left in the top of the ninth inning in Monday’s season opener against the Diamondbacks, Adrian Gonzalez and Kyle Blanks were not satisfied.

Trailing 6-1, the afternoon appeared all but squandered with little positive to take into game two Tuesday.

That changed when Gonzalez stepped to the plate.

Indians-White Sox: Fan Thoughts on Opening Day as Sox Smooth Tribe Like a Sheet

I am an Indians fan who was in attendance for their game at US Cellular Field against the Chicago White Sox on Opening Day, April 5, 2010.

Here are my thoughts.

Typical Mark Buehrle Opening Day game if you are a Tribe fan. Either he is a hair off and the Tribe rips him for eight runs and a granny in the first inning, or he mows them down like grass all day. This was the latter.

Mets, Game 1: The Good, The Bad

The New York Mets season began Monday afternoon at Citi Field against the Florida Marlins. Everyone from their fans to others around baseball have had concerns about the Mets' 2010 season due to early injuries, as well as a suspect starting rotation. For at least one day, however, those concerns were put on hold and the Mets came away with an opening day victory.

As I did following the Yankees opener in Boston, after each game I plan to post a quick recap.
