If you've read my first two articles, "The Stolen Base: A Lost Art. Will we ever see a 100 Steal Man Again?" and "Gimmie Five!

He's got a knuckleball that floats like a butterfly, but stings like a bee.

So now that David Ortiz has found his stroke again, all the murmurs will start.

This will certainly mirror the talk that surrounded Jason Giambi a couple of years ago.

You all remember, don’t you? Giambi admitted to doing performance-enhancing drugs before the 2004 season, and followed that up with an 80 game, 12 home run season. The murmurs, in that case, became a roar of laughter.

It didn’t get any better in 2005 when he came out of the gate with five home runs in the first 60 games of the season, but Giambi would finish that season with 32 homeruns.

Brad Penny came into this game hoping for a good start. Through the season so far, he has done well, but the numbers have not yet been anything extraordinary. He pitched against Tommy Hanson in this game, who had already put together an impressive 3-0 record and got the start.

Brad Penny did get that good start, but it wasn't enough. The offense that stood behind him no longer sparked, as the team did not score until the ninth inning.

With 382 career starts for the Red Sox, Tim Wakefield now needs just one more to pass Roger Clemens for the most in club history. And the knuckleballer is just five wins from matching Clemens' Fenway Park record of 95.

Clemens, long the team leader in so many pitching categories, has slowly – and surprisingly – been encroached upon by his former teammate.

Just a quick note.

David Ortiz's struggles early this season were well documented. He was swinging at bad pitches, consistently swinging off-balance and, above all, couldn't catch up to a fastball to save his life, let alone an inside fastball.

Last night's blast to right field off of Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens should quiet any doubters left out there.

Now Boston has a problem like really no other in baseball which is that they really have too much pitching depth on their roster. This is obviously a good problem for Boston and today I will analyze who really deserves to be in their starting rotation. I will give a short synopsis of each pitcher and see if they deserve a spot in the rotation. I will also see if they deserve to be where they are today.

The Boston Red Sox recently completed a three game series against the Washington Nationals in the nation’s capital. The Sox took two out of three against the lowly Nationals in a relatively unremarkable series—with one exception.

Thanks to the droves of the fans of Red Sox Nation that follow the Sox all across the country, the Nationals recorded three consecutive days of their biggest crowds ever at Nationals Park.
