Los Angeles Dodgers to Host Rick Monday Flag-Saving Bobblehead Night

Rick Monday once made a great play, and now he's being immortalized as a bobblehead.

On April 25, 1976, during a game at Dodgers Stadium, center fielder Rick Monday, then with the Chicago Cubs, saw two protesters come onto the field with the intention of burning an American flag. Monday quickly sprang into action, grabbing the American flag away from the man and his son before it could be lit.

Pittsburgh Pirates Acquire Marlon Byrd, John Buck in Trade with NY Mets

The Pittsburgh Pirates got a much-needed corner outfield power hitter for the stretch run by acquiring Marlon Byrd from the New York Mets, as well as catcher John Buck, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York. 

The Mets' official Twitter account has confirmed the move and provided more details:
