Stan Musial: Remembering Hall of Famer's Greatest Career Accomplishments

Baseball legend Stan Musial passed away Saturday at the age of 92 (via a St. Louis Cardinals news release). The Hall of Famer spent his entire career (1941-1944, 1946-1963) with the St. Louis Cardinals. Following his retirement, he spent time in the Cardinals front office before retiring from the game altogether.

Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame Manager Earl Weaver Dies

Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver died earlier today --- he was 82. According to reports, he was on a cruise in the Caribbean when he suffered a heart attack. He was pronounced dead at about 2 a.m. this morning.

Weaver spent his entire 17-year career as manager of the Baltimore Orioles, and became a beloved figure within the organization as well as the community.

Hall of Fame Manager Earl Weaver Dies at Age 82

The baseball world will take a step back for remembrance on Saturday after the death of Hall of Famer and former Baltimore Orioles manager Earl Weaver. 

Peter Schmuck of The Baltimore Sun had the report.

According to Monica Barlow, the Orioles' head of public relations, Weaver died while on a cruise late Friday night. He was 82.

Is Rafael Soriano the Nationals Final Piece to a 2013 World Series Title?

The Washington Nationals made news today having signed the best free agent pitcher on the market: Rafael Soriano.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports was the first to report (via Twitter) that the Nationals had reached an agreement with Soriano for two years and $28 million.

The Washington Nationals have bolstered their bullpen by signing former all-star relief pitcher Rafael Soriano, 33, to a two-year, $28 million contract that includes a vesting option for a third season.
