Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones suffered a strained hamstring during Friday's game against the New York Yankees when he pulled up at first base after a leadoff groundout in the first inning. It is uncertain when he will be able to return to action.

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of driving while intoxicated in Dallas County.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Thursday they traded catcher A.J. Ellis, minor league right-hander Tommy Bergjans and a player to be named later or cash to the Philadelphia Phillies for Carlos Ruiz.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi was removed from his team's game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays with a knee injury and had to be helped from the field.

Tillman discussed his current malady, per MASN:

New York Mets pitcher Jon Niese left Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with pain in his left knee, per Adam Rubin of ESPN.com. He was placed on the disabled list after the game, and it's unclear when he'll return to the field.

The Mets announced they had called up pitcher Erik Goeddel to take Niese's spot on the roster.

The Texas Rangers have cut ties with Josh Hamilton after an injury-plagued season, although his career with the club might not be over.
