MLB Trade Rumors: Washington Nationals Talking Deal(s) With Adam Dunn

With many of the larger names on the trading block falling by the wayside due to injury, Nationals’ slugger Adam Dunn continues to be the league’s hot commodity.

MLB Trade Rumors:Tigers' Skid Brings Up Trade Talk About Nats Adam Dunn

Another disappointing loss has led to more trade talk among national columnists and Detroit Tigers fans. Tampa Bay defeated the Tigers 3-2 Tuesday night, after a ninth-inning bases-loaded opportunity didn't pan out for Miguel Cabrera.

Detroit is now four games behind the A.L. Central-leading Chicago White Sox, who will come to Comerica Park next week.

MLB Trade Rumors: Diamondbacks' Chris Snyder On Block, Boston's Radar

Fresh off sending Conor Jackson to the Oakland Athletics and Dan Haren to the Los Angeles Angels, the Arizona Diamondbacks are shopping virtually every piece on their Major League roster, including catcher Chris Snyder, who has been on the Boston Red Sox' radar for some time, according to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert and MLBTradeRumors' Ben Nicholson-Smith.

Snyder joins the Colorado Rockies' Chris Iannetta, the Toronto Blue Jays' John Buck, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Russell Martin, and the New York Mets' Rod Barajas as a target of Boston's catching-hungry front office.

MLB Trade Rumors: For Met Rod Barajas, Red Sox Offer Ramon Ramirez

The Boston Red Sox tendered a trade offer to the New York Mets that would have sent Boston reliever Ramon Ramirez to the Big Apple in exchange for veteran catcher Rod Barajas. The deal, however, was at least temporarily tabled when Barajas landed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique, according to FOX's Ken Rosenthal and WEEI's Alex Speier.

While the deal may not be entirely dead, the Red Sox aren't likely to pursue another injured catcher with Jason Varitek nursing a broken foot and Victor Martinez having just returned from the disabled list.

Matt Garza Throws First No-Hitter in Tampa Bay Rays History

Matt Garza pitched the first no-hitter in Tampa Bay Rays history and the fifth in MLB this season, defeating the Detroit Tigers 5-0.

Garza faced the minimum 27 batters, giving up a second-inning walk to Brennan Boesch, but then forcing the next batter Ryan Raburn into a double play.

Garza threw 120 pitches, 80 of which were for strikes, striking out six.

The San Diego Padres and New York Mets are now the only MLB teams that have never had a pitcher throw a no-hitter.

The Padres and Mets are now the only Major League Baseball teams that have never had a pitcher throw a no-hitter.

Matt Garza threw the first no-hitter in Tampa Bay Rays history as they beat the Detroit Tigers 5-0. Garza completed the fifth no-hitter in Major League Baseball this year.

You knew eventually the tide would turn for the Rays, who had been on the wrong side of phenomenal pitching outings this season.

Garza only allowed a second-inning walk out of the 27 batters he faced.

Ben Zobrist sealed the game, catching a routine fly ball to right field.

Yankees Trade Rumors: Jesus Montero for Joakim Soria Refused by Royals

According to Jayson Stark of ESPN , the Royals don’t seem like they are going to part with their closer, Joakim Soria , and they have even turned down an offer by the Yankees that included their top prospect, catcher Jesus Montero .

MLB Trade Rumors: Edwin Jackson-Adam Dunn Three Team Proposal

Merriam-Webster defines "rumor" as "talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source." Baseball fans define rumor as a normal late July occurrence.

It is with this definition in mind that I present to you the latest three-team rumor making the rounds, and it's a good one.

Breaking News: Dan Haren Traded to Los Angeles Angels For Joe Saunders

Entering Sunday, the Los Angeles Angels were six games back of the Texas Rangers in the American League West.

The Angels currently have the worst pitching in the division and are ranked 11th in the AL in ERA.

Sunday the Angels decided to do something about that.

Dan Haren was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks for Joe Saunders, minor league pitching prospects left hander Patrick Corbin, right hander Rafael Rodriguez, neither of which are top Angels prospects, and a player to be named later, which one would imagine will be a higher prospect.

MLB Trade News: Arizona to get Joe Saunders and Tyler Saggs for Haren

The Los Angeles Angels aren't ready to concede the American League West to the Texas Rangers just yet.

And Sunday, the organization made an aggressive move to help bolster its chances.

Los Angeles will send LHP Joe Saunders, LHP Patrick Corbin, RHP Rafael Rodriguez and player to be named later to Arizona in exchange for All-Star RHP Dan Haren.

According to The Arizona Republic Diamondbacks' beat writer Nick Piecoro, the player to be named later will be LHP Tyler Skaggs (the No. 40 overall pick in the 2009 Amateur Draft).
