Jamey Carroll Signs With The Dodgers

The Dodgers were relatively relaxed during the winter meetings last week. After trading Juan Pierre they are now looking to make some moves with the money they saved.

According to the LA Times Friday, Jamey Carroll, a free agent that played as utility infielder with the tribe the past two seasons, will sign with the Dodgers pending a physical.

Jose Reyes Linked to Troubled Sports Physician

According to a report in today’s New York Daily News, New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes visited scrutinized doctor Dr. Tony Galea numerous times.

Galea is a physician based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who is noted for using a technique called blood spinning to help athletes recover from injuries more quickly.

Orioles Continue To Spend: Add Gonzalez and Atkins

While things may be quiet in terms of Mets activity, the Orioles are wasting no time in building their club up for the 2010 campaign and beyond.

Jeff Zrebiec and Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun are reporting that the Orioles have inked former Colorado Rockie, Garrett Atkins , to a one year deal.

It's Officially Official: Halladay to the Phils, Cliff Lee to Seattle

After a few days of hammering out physicals and filing paperwork, the Phillies announced on Wednesday that they have traded Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners, and will hold a press conference at 5:00 EST to announce that they acquired Roy Halladay from Toronto.

The Phillies also acquire Phillippe Aumont, J.C. Ramirez, and Tyson Gillies from the Mariners along with $6 million from the Blue Jays. Philadelphia sends Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor and Travis d'Arnaud to the Jays, who ship Taylor to Oakland for Brett Wallace.

No Halladay Celebrating?

First, a recap of the supposed three-four team deal that is supposed to take place once all the i's are dotted and t's crossed:

    Houston Astros Ink Jason Michaels to One-Year Deal, Cap 40-Man Roster

    The Houston Astros signed Jason Michaels to a one-year deal on Monday, inking the outfielder for $800,000 with a club option for 2011.

    With Michaels’ signing, the Astros are now at their max in terms of their 40-man roster and will spend the rest of the off-season searching for players the club can ink to minor league contracts.

    “It’s nice to return to a place you are familiar,” Michaels told MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart (Houston’s beat writer). “Not just with the guys on the team, but with the surroundings and stuff like that. I’m glad it was able to be worked out.”
