MLB Trade Rumors: Edwin Jackson on the Verge of Heading To White Sox

Late last night word got out that the White Sox and Diamondbacks are close to agreeing on a deal that would send Daniel Hudson along with a minor league pitcher to the Diamondbacks for Edwin Jackson .

On the surface this seems like a logical deal for each team. With Jackson the Sox would be getting a more experienced version of Daniel Hudson and a guy who would instill a little more confidence when he takes the mound down the stretch.

MLB Trade Rumors: White Sox Eyeing Astros First Baseman Lance Berkman

Rebuked in their efforts to obtain Adam Dunn and Prince Fielder, the White Sox have turned to Houston in an effort to bolster the left-handed side of their lineup.

The Astros are definitely willing to part with Berkman, who is having a rough season in Houston.

The 'Stros first baseman is hitting just .245, though he has an impressive .372 OBP. He has drawn 60 walks, but his power totals are down from his career averages.

Chicago White Sox Should Reacquire Scott Podsednik

EDIT: Scott Podsednik has since been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Chicago White Sox made a big mistake this past offseason. Needing a lead-off hitter, Kenny Williams had to decide whether or not to bring back Scott Podsednik.

Williams decided not to cede to Podsednik's request for a multi-year deal. Now, the White Sox are paying Juan Pierre almost double Podsednik's current salary to be a scrub.

Take a look at their numbers up to this point in the season:

Chicago White Sox: Defense Is Key to Winning

The saying “defense wins championships” is generally a phrase left for the fans of the gridiron. The punishing hits and the game-changing interceptions are all things that can change the entire outcome of the game. While overlooked to a degree in baseball, defense is an integral part of today’s game.  This year, a few surprises on defense have made the entire White Sox team better overall defensively.

MLB Trade Rumors: Edwin Jackson-Adam Dunn Three Team Proposal

Merriam-Webster defines "rumor" as "talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source." Baseball fans define rumor as a normal late July occurrence.

It is with this definition in mind that I present to you the latest three-team rumor making the rounds, and it's a good one.

Chicago White Sox's Ozzie Guillen—A Player's Coach and a Fan's Manager!

Let me start by saying I am not a White Sox fan. I grew up cheering for the Minnesota Twins.

As a Twins fan I remember Ozzie Guillen being a thorn in the Twins' side as a player. Since taking over the White Sox he is now a thorn in the Twins' side as a manager.

Yet, Guillen is one of my favorite managers in baseball. A lot of it is for the praise he has always had for the Minnesota Twins, and the mutual respect that Ron Gardenhire and he have for each other.

No Royalty: Why the Chicago White Sox Should Pass on Prince Fielder

It sounds like a great idea: Bring the Prince Fielder to Chicago, and let him take down Daddy's former team and keep them off the top spot.

However, for "His Royal Highness of the Trade Deadline," is he really worth the price?

Reports are saying the Brewers covet two major league players for the hefty first baseman, second baseman Gordon Beckham and pitchers John Danks or Gavin Floyd.

MLB Trade Deadline: Adam Dunn to Chicago?

The question of whether Adam Dunn would look good in a White Sox uniform should not be the main debate right now.

As a player who has mainly worn a reddish color everywhere he’s been, some might wonder if the grey and black would fit him. That’s something that everyone needs to accept due to the good chances of him going to Chicago.

The main question that White Sox fans should be asking themselves is whether Dunn could be a potential run producer and a hitter who can keep the middle of the lineup busy with his power.

Bobby Jenks Needs To Go as Chicago White Sox Closer: Time To Cut the Fat

For some reason people feel closers should get some kind of leeway when they are simply not being good pitchers.

Coaches and players want to cite different years in which a closers' save totals were high, but when your job is to pitch one inning, your years can change with a couple hard hit balls.

In Bobby Jenks' case it's been many hard hit balls.

Closers can be created. After all, it's just pitching one inning for pitchers who, at one time, were pitching nine.

Chicago White Sox Closer News: Bobby Jenks' Role in Doubt

Ozzie Guillen was candid after last night’s loss to the Seattle Mariners, with Bobby Jenks allowing two ER on three hits over just 0.1 innings.
