Dan Uggla

Dan Uggla, the big bat in the Marlins lineup, is bound to be dealt in the offseason due to his raise in salary via arbitration.  Dan Uggla is very valuable to a team as he can hit homers and drive in runs; for this reason, the Braves are in pursuit for his bat.

The Braves need a big bat in their lineup since, this year, between their three and four hitters Chipper Jones and Brian McCann, they only hit 39 HR. 

The Florida Marlins were off to a hot 13-1 start and playing well until they ran into the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Obviously, the Pirates’ advance scouts saw holes in Bonifacio’s swing as the Bucs handcuffed both Hanley Ramirez and Emilio Bonifacio. 

The Marlins have been struggling to get wins from their rotation as they went through 20 straight games without a win from a starter, 14 short of the Major League record.

The stolen base in Major League Baseball is sadly, a lost art. In an era that is slowly recovering from the aberration that was the "live ball era" (i.e. steroid era) and coming to grips that it all was just a sham, before this fad, was the art of the stolen base.

With a payroll that couldn’t even net a team two Alex Rodriguez’ (not that any team would even want one Alex Rodriguez), heading into Saturday April 11 games, the Florida Marlins lead the majors as the only undefeated team standing.
