Albert Pujols Contract Standoff: Good or Bad for His Fantasy Value?

If you're the type of person that reads this website, you've undoubtedly heard by now that the deadline has come and gone for Albert Pujols to reach a contract extension with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cardinals reportedly offered "more than $200 million over nine or 10 years" for the future Hall of Famer and even an ownership stake in the team. But it just wasn't enough for the game's best player.

Fantasy Baseball: Buster Posey vs. Jason Heyward—Who's the Better Keeper?

It is official. Football season is over, the groundhog did not see his shadow, the snowy weather has been ushered out with warmer temperatures and spring training camps are opening.

All of this can mean only one thing: Baseball season is almost here.

With the beginning of baseball season comes the start of fantasy baseball drafts. Last year, I joined a fantasy baseball league called Strat-O-Matic Baseball (for the Richmond Strat-O-Matic Baseball League...find out more on www.rsbl.org).

2011 Fantasy Baseball Forecast: Who To Target on the Chicago Cubs

At 75-87, the Chicago Cubs gave their fans yet another disappointing season in 2010, as the team continued its long and storied tradition of losing.

The year started out with an ominous beginning, as the volatile Carlos Zambrano and manager Lou Pinella had a well publicized feud over Zambrano’s struggles on the mound.

MLB Fantasy Debate: Matt Holliday or Ryan Braun

The top four outfielders—Carl Crawford, Carlos Gonzalez, Ryan Braun and Matt Holliday—are so tightly bunched that they could conceivably finish the season in any order and I wouldn’t be surprised. And no, Josh Hamilton was not an accidental omission; his injury history is too worrisome for an early-round pick in my book.

2011 Fantasy Baseball: 5 Rules for Auction Rookies

There isn't much content online about auction drafts. I think that's mostly because its more challenging and therefore less popular.

You can auto-draft (a.k.a. skip the draft) and end up with a very good team. Going into an auction, the best laid plans win.

While the auction never goes exactly as planned, the guy who does the best job at executing the plan will end up with the best team, at least out of the gate. There are many different strategies for auctions, and I cannot adequately explain them all, but here are a few simple rules to follow.
