Fantasy Baseball Closing Situations: Looking at the Closers of the NL West

It’s time to continue our journey around the league, looking at each team’s closer situation. The National League West is home to one of, if not the, worst bullpens in the league, but also a few of the elite closers.  Let’s take a look at all the updated situations:

Fantasy Baseball Impact: The September Call-Ups

September is here (already?) and that means roster expansion. We'll scour the list of September call-ups and point out the players that could help your fantasy team down the stretch.

Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: 2010 Speed Demons, Vol. 10 (Sept. 1)

Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up. Here are some reasonably available SB threats.

Eric Young, Jr., 2B/OF, Colorado Rockies

Young had seven stolen bases in the past 15 days while hitting .246 with eight runs. On the year he’s hitting .245 with 12 SBs, 17 runs, and three RBI in 98 ABs. Eric is owned in 25 percent of CBS and 10 percent of ESPN leagues.

MLB's Surprises and Busts for 2010: A Roundtable With the Ladies of Twitter

Times are changing and Twitter has quickly become a great source of sports information. Everyone from sports stars to professional sports writers to Internet-famed sports bloggers are writing daily. Rookie Pitcher Keepers for 2011: Mat Latos is a Must!

2010 has blessed Major League Baseball with a memorable rookie class.

Fantasy owners in Dynasty and Keeper leagues were quite familiar with this cast of characters long before they arrived in the show.

In commemoration of their foresight, let's take a gander at the top 10 pitching keepers for 2011.

Check out our Positional Rookie List too!

MLB Fantasy: Roy Halladay, Carlos Zambrano, Week 22 Two-Start Pitchers

Matt Kemp has had a poor season for the lofty expectations that were set for him. I projected the Los Angeles centerfielder at .301 BA/25 HR/111 RBI/28 SB. He was ranked as the second best fantasy outfielder by most, but just hasn’t been that good. He is currently at .255/22/74/18.

Fantasy Baseball Closing Situations: Looking at the AL Central Closers

It’s time to continue our journey around the league, looking at each team’s closer situation.

The AL Central is home to one of the most fluid closing situations and also one of the most stable options in the league.  Let’s take a look at their updated situation, as well as the other three teams in the division:

Chicago White Sox

Fantasy Baseball Two-Start Options: Week 22 (August 30: September 5)

It’s time to look at the potential two-start options for the upcoming fantasy week.  If I have someone rated as a three, four, or five-star option, they are someone I would definitely use.  A two-star option is someone who is borderline, but I’d strongly lean against it unless I have no other options.  The one-star options are an absolute no scenario.

So, with that said, let’s take a look at the players available to you this week—

Five-Star Options

Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: 2010 RBI Guys, Vol. 9

Are you hurting in the RBI category? Here are some reasonably available players that can help you out.

Jhonny Peralta, 3B/SS, Detroit Tigers
Peralta had 14 RBIs over the past 15 days while hitting .289 with 7 runs and 4 HRs. On the year he’s hitting .244 with 47 runs, 13 HRs, 61 RBIs, and 1 SB. Jhonny is owned in 12 percent of ESPN and 46 percent of CBS leagues.

Fantasy Baseball Top 15 1Bs for 2011: An Extremely Early Second Look

It’s been a while since we’ve updated our first basemen rankings, and there is one major change...Joey Votto. He just continues to rake and now finds himself among the top five in the league.

Will he be able to maintain that mark? There are some concerns, so that’ll be a question for the offseason, but for now, he is looking like a potential first round pick next season.
