Bright House Field in Clearwater to Welcome Back MLB Legends on March 14

If you find yourself in the Clearwater, Florida area on March 14, 2010, there will be a great event to take the family to at Bright House Field.

A group of former Major League Baseball players will be gathering for an Alumni Legends Game again this spring.

Last Spring a couple dozen former stars of the game came together at Bright House Field with the Military All-Stars Team, which was led by former Red Sox first baseman Brian Daubach.

Seattle Mariners' Players of the Decade for the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s

Established in 1977, the Seattle Mariners have competed in three complete decades: the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

The Mariners have featured few true "franchise players," who could be instantly noticed as the face of the franchise. Edgar Martinez, Ken Griffey Jr., and Ichiro Suzuki have all had a turn, but other prominent players, such as Alex Rodriguez, Randy Johnson, and Tino Martinez, have come and gone.

Atlanta Braves: 10 Former Prospects That Got Away

The Atlanta Braves have a great tradition of drafting and developing players. No other team has had the international pressence or pre-draft scouting success that the Braves have had since the late 1980's

Chipper Jones, Tom Glavine, Andruw Jones, Javy Lopez, David Justice, Steve Avery, and Rafael Furcal are some names that the Braves have developed from the past.

NY Yankee's Whitey Ford Had No Choice: He Persevered

As the New York Yankees opened spring training in 1967, they had many question marks, not the least of which was the status of 38-year-old Whitey Ford.

The greatest pitcher in Yankees' history was a free agent, but only because he didn't want to occupy a spot on the roster until he discovered if he could still pitch.

Red in the Face: The Cincinnati Reds Five Worst Free Agent Signings

While the Reds have made plenty of bad trades over the years, historically they haven't gotten torched for signing the wrong free agents. But that doesn't mean there isn't five worthy candidates. Most of these players were around in the 2000s—which is also the time frame of nine straight losing seasons.

The following players have sucked money out of the Reds wallets like a vacuum while giving the team next to nothing on the field. High robbery indeed.

The New York Yankees Had to Trade Roger Maris

Geoff Britches remembers when his St. Louis Cardinals acquired the services of Roger Maris prior to the 1967 season.

He responds to a recent article whose position is that the New York Yankees should not traded Roger.

Roger Maris Would Not Play for the Yankees

Roger Maris would not have returned to the New York Yankees after the 1966 season.

Edgar Martinez, Jamie Moyer, and Ichiro Headline Seattle Mariners All-Decade Team

If Seattle had a sports-themed amusement park, the roller coaster ride would probably be called the “Moose-a-lini”, “Marinator”, or “M’s-Sir-Mount-able”.

For some, a roller coaster is a frightening event.

Mickey Mantle's Most Important Catch

"The biggest game I ever played in was probably Don Larsen's perfect game."

Those were the words of Mickey Mantle, who played in many big games. On Oct. 8, 1956, Mickey Mantle had one of the best games of his great career.

Take Me Out To The Ballpark: Ebbets Field

Major League baseball has not been played in the Borough of Brooklyn since 1957.

But any serious baseball fan can still tell you that until that time some of the games greatest moments occurred at Bedford Avenue where Ebbets Field stood.
