Stock Up, Stock Down: Milwaukee Brewers (Games 10-20)

Oh, the joys of being a Brewers fan...

Watching the Brewers can be quite stressful, especially given their inconsistent pitching, but it definitely has it's positives.

Some of the best hitting performances you'll see all year come from the Brew Crew.

Bob Uecker: Iconic Hall of Fame Broadcaster to Undergo Major Heart Surgery

How can a player with a six-year stint in the majors, and a .200 career batting average become one of the most beloved characters in Major League Baseball?

Be Bob Uecker—that's it, fairly simply.

Milwaukee Brewers' fans are lucky enough to have the opportunity to listen to the "Ueke's" colorful and often legitimately laugh-out-loud funny commentary on a nightly basis.

Uecker, 75, will undergo major heart surgery on Friday, and most likely be out of commission for 10 to 12 weeks.

Milwaukee-Pittsburgh: Brewers Sweep Pirates, Set Records Along The Ride

The Brewers beat the Pirates 20 to 0 (yes 20) Thursday to complete the sweep against Pittsburgh.

The win today tied the Brewer team record for largest margin of victory, and is a Brewer record for the largest shutout victory in team history.

The Brewers also set a club record by leading by eight runs in four straight games, going back to the final game of the Nationals series.

Now Showing: What a Prince Fielder-Less Milwaukee Brewers Will Look Like

The picture shown here could very well be the last time that Prince Fielder greets his teammates on Opening Day in a Milwaukee Brewers jersey.

There, I wrote it.

This is not a reality that I look forward to.

In fact, Fielder playing Major League Baseball in a uniform other than the Brewers is probably the thing I'm least looking forward to as it relates to the Brewers since Robin Yount's retirement.

What I’m Reading

• Id’ like to give the Brewers some words of advice, but the sign says it all: “Sign Prince and they will come” .

Stock Up, Stock Down: Milwaukee Brewers

Much has been made of Milwaukee's lack of pitching and depth in the bullpen (it's Hoffman, Hawkins, then everyone else..), but there are some performances that should not go without praise in the early going this season.

Starting today, (April 18th) I will begin a bi-weekly series of stock up/down articles summarizing the Brewers' top performers in both the batters box and on the pitching mound, also including a rundown of players struggling as of late.

So, without much further ado, let's begin the way-too-early-to-mean-anything-by-September hasty generalizations!

Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight 4/15: Brewers' Ryan Braun Shines

Fantasy Baseball Insiders’ 162-game journey is being put on hold for one night. While time didn’t allow the Insiders to score an entire game on Thursday, we did watch parts of multiple games.

For this reason, we’ll skip straight to the relevant player information from Thursday’s games.

After Jeff Suppan's First Start, What Can Brewers Fans Expect from Him in 2010?

Talk about your worst-case scenario.

The Brewers had lost two in a row to the Cubs at Wrigley, the second game punctuated by a LaTroy Hawkins meltdown when the Brewers had a three-run lead in the eighth inning.

The wind was blowing out for the third day in a row. Derrek Lee was back in the lineup (for a while at least) after sitting out the game prior while nursing a thumb. Cub ace Carlos Zambrano was on the bump for the home team coming off a strong outing against the Mets despite his Opening Day woes in Atlanta.

Trevor Hoffman Struggling Under Pressure of Save No. 600

Trevor Hoffman's quest to reach 600 career saves has become somewhat of a hot topic in recent days in Milwaukee.

Hoffman, the all-time saves leader, has blown two save situations already for the Brewers (3-4) this season.

For Hoffman, the Brewers announced this spring that Miller Park would feature a saves countdown in left field on the scoreboard. Fans can see a large banner of Hoffman, followed by a tracking of Hoffman's historic milestone save by save.

Gregg Zaun is a hilarious human being

He may not necessarily be a person who should start for a professional baseball team, at all, but the Milwaukee Brewers' brand new catcher is probably one of the more entertaining members of the organization. This crazy awesome picture of him holding a huge fish is just one example of his uncanny ability to entertain.
