MLB Trade Rumors: The Latest on Roy Oswalt, Prince Fielder and More

There are 12 days until the Major League Baseball trade deadline, and the needs and wants of teams are changing daily.

The Yankees thought they might be all good without another starting pitcher Saturday, but that all changed when Andy Pettitte went down in the early stages of Sunday's start.

Who are the hot commodities heading down the stretch, and who are the contenders?

Let's take a look at the latest trade rumors.

MLB Trade Rumors: 10 Relievers That Would Strengthen Any Bullpen

Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions about the picture that opens the slideshow, you can relax, because Mariano Rivera isn't going anywhere.

However, there have been plenty of rumors that have centered around relievers, most of which any team would love to have in their own bullpen for the stretch run.

There are some better than others, some that will cost more in return, and even more that can be had for not much at all.

However, whether they cost major league talent, top prospects, or your run of the mill "player to be named later," we'll see plenty of relievers moved at the deadline m

Trading Spaces: Potential Trade Pieces on Display

We sit just two weeks in front of the Major League Baseball non-waiver trade deadline, which occurs on July 31. Already, we have seen one ace (Cliff Lee) get dealt to a new team, and there are several more arms that could be traded before 4:00 pm on the 31st.

And tonight, all of those pitchers are on the mound for their current teams. Could this be the last starts for their respective clubs? Will these starts act as auditions? Only time will tell.

MLB Trade Rumors: Mike Lowell Back on Texas Rangers' Radar

After dealing Justin Smoak and his right-handed bat for Cliff Lee, the Texas Rangers may have increased interest in reviving an offseason trade for Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell, according to WEEI Sportsradio Network's Rob Bradford.

Both Smoak's departure and corner-infielder Chris Davis' offensive struggles may force the American League West leaders to acquire a player of Lowell's caliber to at least platoon with the likes of Davis.

MLB Trade Rumors: San Francisco Giants Sign Dontrelle Willis, but Why?

In some recess of his or her brain, every San Francisco Giants fan is thinking the same thing now that Dontrelle Willis has signed a Minor League contract with the club.

Does this mean someone in the current rotation is on his way out?

It's natural.

Although rookie Madison Bumgarner's name has popped up on the trade radar, it's doubtful the Gents would be interested in moving the 20-year-old lefty, given he's twirled a quartet of blinders since being called up at the end of June.

MLB Trade Rumors: Rays Dealing Carl Crawford, Phillies Trading Jayson Werth?

Baseball’s hot stove is heating up. With two weeks left until the trade deadline and Cliff Lee already dealt, the two big names left on the rumor circuit are Carl Crawford and Jayson Werth.

The two have much in common: Both are outfielders who are among the best players on their respective teams. They both play for clubs that are fully in the thick of playoff contention—Crawford’s Rays are three games up in the AL Wild Card, while Werth’s Phillies sit just 1.5 games behind the Rockies and Dodgers in the NL.

MLB Trade Rumors: 10 Players Whose Contracts Are Getting In The Way

The All-Star break has come and gone, and with the trade deadline under two weeks away, we will soon see who the "buyers" and "sellers" will be this season.

However, with the current state of the economy and a number of teams losing money, teams could be looking to cheaper solutions to make their pennant run, as opposed to acquiring the big-name players available on the market.

So here are the ten players who would have already been with a different team five years ago, but instead will find themselves sticking with their current teams because of their hefty contracts.

MLB Trade Rumors: Five Prospects the L.A. Dodgers Will Not Sacrifice

With the MLB trade deadline just over two weeks away, Dodgers' general manager Ned Colletti is scrambling to make the best possible roster moves in an effort to mold together a playoff contending squad for 2010.

It's been speculated that financial resources are limited, and outside of several underperforming relievers and a few substandard bench players, Los Angeles really doesn't want to sacrifice talent at the Major League level in order to obtain that missing piece of the puzzle that puts them over the top.

However, the Dodgers' farm system remains one of the most productive in baseball,

MLB Trade Rumors: How the Angels Should Respond to Cliff Lee Aquisition

Imagine for a minute you're staring into a boxing ring somewhere between Anaheim, California and Arlington, Texas.

The Los Angeles (don't call me Anaheim) Angels just watched as the Texas Rangers stole left-hander Cliff Lee right out from under the New York Yankees. It was like a stunning left cross that the Angels never saw coming.

While they stare off into space, stunned that the once lowly Texas Rangers just threw their biggest punch in years, and while the stars they're seeing start to wear off, owner Artie Moreno has to be hatching a plan on how the team responds.

MLB Trade Rumors: Blue Jays All-Star Catcher John Buck to Red Sox?

Busy as Blue Jays Catcher John Buck was collecting his first hit as an All-Star, he still found time to discuss his former teammate, David DeJesus, with WEEI's Alex Speier yesterday in Anaheim. Put bluntly, Buck thinks DeJesus would perform tremendously with the Red Sox or another playoff contender.

Little does Buck realize that he may be playing in Beantown just as quickly as Kansas City's much-discussed outfielder. Perhaps they'll reunite at Fenway.
