New York Mets Make the Right Move on Jenrry Mejia

The Jenrry Mejia experiment is over in New York…at least for now.

The Mets did the right thing when they sent the 20-year-old rookie to the minors Sunday. While Mejia was an adequate if inconsistent reliever for the Mets this season, GM Omar Minaya’s decision to send him to the minors to start is what’s best for Mejia and the Mets organization in the long term.

New York Mets Recent Resurgence Still Not Enough

Despite losing their last two consecutive games against the New York Yankees, the New York Mets have showed improvement.

Going 8-2 in the last 10 games they’ve played, the Mets are currently 39-30 and second in the NL East, trailing the Atlanta Braves by 2.5 games.

Since calling R.A. Dickey and Hisanori Takahashi from the minor leagues, the Mets have found success. Dickey is 5-0 on the season with a 2.82 ERA and Takahashi is 6-2 with a 3.13 ERA on the season.

Fausto Carmona: New York Mets Trade Target

As the trade deadline inches closer and closer, it becomes more obvious which teams will be buyers and which teams will be sellers. It is obvious the Indians will be sellers this year. They are currently 13.5 games out of first place and are 16 games under .500 with a 26-42 record.

There has been talk about a few Indians pitchers being moved between now and the trade deadline. Jake Westbrook's name has been mentioned in connection with many teams. However, there is a more interesting name that has been circling in the trade winds.

MLB: Minaya, Mets Righting the Ship

The open of the 2010 season had many fans of the New York Metropolitans up in arms.

New York Mets Top Prospect Jenrry Mejia Finally Optioned To Minors

Jerry Manuel finally loosened his grip on the development of top pitching prospect Jenrry Mejia, following the Mets 4-0 loss in the Subway Series finale on Sunday, allowing the 20-year-old to return to AA Binghamton to become a starting pitcher again.

New York Mets Will Make Jenrry Mejia a Starter, Call Up Bobby Parnell

The Mets have decided to return RHP Jenrry Mejia to a starting role and will initially send him to Double-A Binghamton to stretch him out. To replace Mejia they will recall RHP Bobby Parnell .

This is great news for Mets fans because Mejia, 20-years old, projects as a future starter and using him in the bullpen, in essentially a mop-up role, his development was being stunted.

CC Sabathia Shuts Down Mets, Yankees Take Series

NEW YORK—It just wasn't meant to be for the Mets this afternoon, as they were shut down by a dominant CC Sabathia, losing 4-0.

For Johan Santana, it was one bad pitch that did him in. The only runs for either team came from one swing off the bat of Mark Teixeira, who hit a grand slam in the third, giving the Yankees a 4-0 lead that they would not relinquish.

Analyzing Johan Santana's Struggles As Yankees Blank Mets, 4-0

For the third time this season, Johan Santana served up a home run with the bases full, as C.C. Sabathia and the Yankees took the rubber game of a three-game set in the Bronx.

Santana had only surrendered two grand slams in his career entering the 2010 campaign, but Mark Teixeira did what Josh Willingham and Shane Victorino did earlier this year in helping the Yankees to a 4-0 victory.

New York Mets Eyeing Dan Haren

In my last article , I discussed the likelihood that the Arizona Diamondbacks will be sellers at the trade deadline, including how Kelly Johnson is a possible target for the Mets.

The Diamondbacks also have another player that the Mets and many other teams will be interested in: Dan Haren.

Jason Hammel & Angel Pagan: Fantasy Baseball's Waiver Wire Winners

Every week, aside from my standard Fantasy Baseball dealings, I practice a little exercise to improve my research and team management skills.

On Sunday evenings I comb through who is available on the waiver/free agent wire, regardless of need, to familiarize myself with the current inventory.
