MLB Rumors: Could Manny Ramirez Help the New York Yankees?

Future Hall of Famer Manny Ramirez is still a free agent as of right now. He is going to be looking to find another team for the 2011 season, and the New York Yankees could be the right home for the 38-year-old slugger.

His hitting would benefit almost any team, and it's rumored that the Yankees could be after him.

Here are some reasons why Ramirez could or couldn't end up with the Yankees.

MLB Rumors: Will the New York Yankees Really Make a Play for Manny Ramirez?

Jack Curry of the YES Network tweeted recently that the Yankees are having internal discussions about picking up free-agent outfielder Manny Ramirez.

What else is new?

For those of you who know anything about baseball, you know that you can always count on the Yankees to make offers to big ticket players every offseason, whether that be through trades or free agency.

Take Mark Teixeira as a great example.

MLB Rumors: Should the New York Yankees Take a Chance on Jeff Francis?

When the Yankees began their offseason plan, they probably didn't think it would be this difficult to land starting pitching after making it a priority.

They were turned down by Cliff Lee, and Andy Pettitte is likely leaning towards retirement.

This has lead the Yankees into Plans C, D, E and F.

New York Yankees: Not Just a Young Man's Game

Sometimes I think the sports world needs characters like Gene Shalit. Perhaps just a anecdotal distraction from the rising ticket prices, off season doldrums, or whatever.  I don't know what I'm talking about.  I just know that whatever Gene does, I don't pay any attention to the point or reviews, I'm just fixated on that silly bow tie, the mustache and his outdated hair do.

Okay enough of going off the deep end and back to the topic.

MLB Rumors: New York Yankees Should Bring Johnny Damon Back For 2011

It's a few days before Christmas and so far, the Yankees have been relatively quiet in their off-season shopping.

So far, after missing out on Cliff Lee, the Yankees have brought in Russell Martin to be the starting catcher and Pedro Feliciano for the bullpen.

For the Yankees, that's an extremely quiet winter considering their deep pockets and myriad of resources.

Right now, though, it looks like the Yankees are attempting to bring back a familiar face to the lineup.

New York Yankees: What to Do with Jesus Montero?

After the Yankees missed on Cliff Lee, there has been a lot of talk about Jesus Montero being used as a major trade chip to haul in another ace. The ONLY way I am in favor of this is if Felix Hernandez somehow is put on the block.

If it is not King Felix, I say hold on to him. Montero is the top Yankee prospect, top five in all of baseball, according to Baseball America and it would be a shame to lose him.

MLB Rumors: Brandon Webb and Other Free Agents the New York Yankees Must Target

The Boston Red Sox have made the headlines this MLB offseason, signing free agent Carl Crawford and trading for Adrian Gonzalez.

The New York Yankees struck out on Crawford, and were also turned down by free agent pitcher Cliff Lee, who chose to return to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Yankees have only re-signed major players this winter, most notably future hall of famers and Yankee legends Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

MLB Rumors: New York Yankees Interested In Johnny Damon Reunion

According to Newsday's Ken Davidoff, the Yankees are interested in bringing Johnny Damon back to the Bronx. The report states that the Yankees are intending on bringing back Damon to use as a fourth outfielder and occasional DH.

MLB Rumors: What Free Agents are Left for the New York Yankees?

The Boston Red Sox made their moves. Trading for Adrian Gonzalez and signing Carl Crawford has transformed the Red Sox from one of the better offensive teams in the league into the most feared lineup in the American League.

The Philadelphia Phillies stole Cliff Lee right out from under the Yankees' nose. Imagine facing a playoff rotation of Lee, Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, and Cole Hamels.
