I've heard and seen many theories this week as to why the Yankees won the 2009 World Series and their 27th overall championship this past Wednesday.

Some thought it was the offense, which was lead by Alex Rodriguez hitting .365 and blasting six home runs and 18 RBI, World Series MVP Hideki Matsui batting .615 and Derek Jeter, who batted over .400 in the series

Some said it was the starting pitching of CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Andy Pettitte, who combined went 8-2, being the only team since the 1991 Twins to use three starters.

Shelley Duncan has seen brief success when he has played for The New York Yankees from 2007 to 2009.  It is a completely different story when he gets full time play with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Triple-A affiliate of the 27 time World Champs.

Duncan lead the International League in home runs (30) RBI (99), runs and extra base hits, thus being honored by the Topps Company of New York, as their Player of the Year.

The New York Yankees are the best team in baseball—for the 2009 season (as we predicted in our World Series Preview ). But is this one of the best teams in baseball history? Is it even one of the best teams in Yankees history? What about this decade?

This observer witnessed something in New York City the last couple of days.

On Tuesday night, New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg bought himself another term by defeating New York City comptroller William Thompson in an mayoral election that the Democratic candidate had no chance of winning.

Last night, the Yankees bought themselves their 27th championship by eliminating the Phillies in six games in what was a boring World Series.

What can we learn from this? If anyone has the money, he or she can do whatever he or she wants, and odds are success comes with it.

Unthinkable!

After the New York Yankees won the World Series of Baseball for the first time since 2000 I had a chance to sit down with some of the players, namely Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez (herein referred to as A-Rod), and World Series MVP Hideki Matsui!

What followed was an honest interview between three celebrity baseball players dosed with champagne and one serious reporter with a mission to expose the truth.

Drew: So guys, how does it feel to be you ?

I am from Connecticut.  I am a DIEHARD Red Sox fan.  And I know one thing about the New York Yankees—there is no other team more deserving of a championship in 2009.

I can already read what the comments on this message board will say: "They just bought their title"..."Girardi's terrible, anyone could manage that roster"..."ARod and Pettite took steroids." Those are excuses for yourself and for your own team.

The New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 Wednesday night in the Bronx to win their record 27th World Series championship.

The Yankees, who went 103-59 to establish 2009's best mark in Major League Baseball, simply outclassed the Phillies over the course of six games.

The Yankees' 27th World Series title is a testament to what money can buy.

The Yankees bid farewell to high-priced (but aging or diminished) players like Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Jason Giambi, and Bobby Abreu last offseason, and then replaced them with younger, fresher free agents.

This picture disturbs me.

Why, you may ask?

Well, if C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Mark Teixeira, and Nick Swisher had not come to the Bronx...
