Yogi Berra has appeared in 14 World Series. He batted an anemic .188 in the first five Series that he played in. But despite Berra's lack of offense, the New York Yankees won all of them.

Then it began. In his final nine World Series, Yogi hit .335 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs. He was especially effective against the Yankees' primary rival, the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Top pitching prospect Manny Banuelos pitched another pair of scoreless innings Wednesday evening and looked as dominating as ever while doing it.

A lot of questions surrounding the New York Yankees pitching rotation entering spring training are being answered half-way in.

The biggest question mark had to do with starting pitching.

Many experts felt as though after C.C. Sabathia, Phil Hughes and AJ Burnett, the Yankees really had no one one on their roster to fill the final two spots of the rotation.

Is it really fantasy baseball season again?

I'm still exhausted from last year, when the struggles of Mark Teixeira had me acting like the overstressed black police captain in every 1980s buddy cop movie you ever saw, popping Tums by the handful and saying things like, "I'm getting too old for this shit."

There has been a lot of excitement over the farm system of the New York Yankees the last year or two, and much of it justified. But you can forget about Adam Warren being any sort of prospect worthy of such commotion.

There are so many question marks going into the new 2011 season in the Bronx.  Here, you will see my predictions for the lineup, starting rotation, bullpen, and overall major league roster.  I will give predictions for statistics.  There will be stats for hitters in the lineup, starting pitchers, relievers, and the bench.

This week on "Remember When…." We are going all the way back to the early Nineties when a 25 year-old kid came up for half a season to turn the Yankee faithful into believers. Kevin Maas was going to be the next Babe Ruth.

The New York Yankees are coming off a 95-win season in which they led the league in runs scored. They earned the wild card spot with a second-place finish in the AL East, but they have a good amount of questions coming into this year.

There are few "sure things" in life. Some that come to mind are death and taxes, which are not exactly what most people like to think about. But, with the baseball season less than four weeks away, lets take a look at each team's "money player" for the 2011 season. "Sure thing" will be defined as anybody who has and will put up consistent numbers over a minimum of a three year period. We aren't looking for flashes in the pan as much as legitimate stars who have been and will be consistent throughout this season and their career. 

I saw an interview of the Yankees' player development director, Mark Newman, by noted baseball prospect expert John Sickels, and was more than a little surprised at some of the spin Newman puts on various players in the organization.

Maybe surprised isn't the right word.
