Manny Ramirez's days with the Los Angeles Dodgers seem to be coming to an end, as the general consensus around baseball is that he will end up on waivers early this week. 

Monday was the first opportunity the Dodgers had to put Ramirez on waivers because it was the first business day after Ramirez came off the disabled list, but they are not expected to do so.

Apparently the San Francisco Giants are trying to set the record for most outfielders acquired in one season.

It was announced today that the Los Angeles Dodgers have claimed Rod Barajas off waivers from the New York Mets.

It appears that the Dodgers will be sending cash considerations to the Mets in exchange for Barajas.

This move reflects the directions that these two teams are heading. The Mets get out paying Barajas the rest of his salary and are receiving money in return.

Preface: This article is not just the best players at each position, no matter the circumstances (payroll, player preferences, owners, etc). The criteria used for the article includes all of the before mentioned attributes and they are factored in to each position.

The 2010 season is over for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Faithful fans are still watching, but the Boys in Blue are really only mathematically in it, not realistically.

Yes, this is an incredibly bold conclusion. Actually, I haven't concluded anything, I've just posed a question.

The fact of the matter is, the Giants have an incredibly fickle nature. Remember in July, when they won 20 games for the first time since September of 2000? Well, right before that month, they had a seven-game losing streak. Are they going to once again bounce back?

Just a day after the latest Diamondbacks bullpen implosion, the team was back on the field trying to avoid being swept by the red hot Cincinnati Reds.

With the Diamondbacks facing a left-handed pitcher, everyone expected changes to Arizona’s line-up.

Left-handed hitting catcher Miguel Montero was replaced by the right-handed hitting John Hester.

Just when I think I've heard it all, this story comes down the pike.

The San Diego Padres are in the middle of a pennant race in the National League's Western Division, leading by six games over the San Francisco Giants with just over a month to go.

You'd think the last thing they'd want to do is affect their home field, or stadium, in any way during said pennant race. Unfortunately, you'd be wrong.

Recently, Major League Baseball has been buzzing about the future of several managers. From Tony LaRussa to Joe Girardi, these men are starting to make more headlines than this year's looming free agent class. 

There could now even be a "Joe Torre Watch" as he is one of the most prized managers in the game and could be relocating this offseason. He has a few destinations to choose from.
