The Mets continued their hot streak with a 7-3 win against the Dodgers today behind some early offense and a strong pitching performance by John Maine. They have now won seven games in a row, and have wrapped up this homestand by winning 9 out of 10 games. Not bad.

Be careful though, these Mets were clearly not as bad as they were early in the season, but they probably aren’t this good either.

I really, really like John Bowker . I admit that.

There has been a great debate going on in Rockies Nation for almost a year.

When you face Dan Haren, you have to be perfect.

So essentially the Rockies were done after Jason Hammel gave up three runs in the top of the first inning. The Diamondbacks went on to win 5-3.

To say this has been an emotional week for the Colorado Rockies is a vast understatement.

The Rockies lackluster performance in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday was made up for in game two.

Baseball is one really weird game.

One second you're feeling like an unstoppable freight train. Everything clicks: Pitching, hitting, defense.

It just works.

Then you blink, and BAM! Everything's upside down, and images of Manny Ramirez rounding the bases or David Eckstein singlehandedly defeating the Giants cause fans to toss and turn.

One can only really describe this as "a series of unfortunate events."

The Rockies defeated the Nationals 2-0 on Thursday behind another incredible performance from their budding star Ubaldo Jimenez.
