Los Angeles Dodgers Need To Go Fishing for Marlin

Is there a better fit out there for the Dodgers than Dan Uggla?

There is no reason to believe that the Marlins will not be shopping him around over the winter. He got into a well publicised argument with the teams star Hanley Ramirez during the regular season, so guess who is leaving town?

San Diego Padres Hire Jed Hoyer As GM

I guess the farewell lunch the Boston Red Sox held for Jed Hoyer today kind of gave it away huh?

According to various sources, the San Diego Padres have hired Red Sox Assistant GM Jed Hoyer to be their new GM. Hoyer replaces Kevin Towers, who was fired at the beginning of the month.

Hoyer joined the Red Sox front office at age 28, where he helped to build Boston’s rosters and assisted in contract negotiations.

TBS Takes Away Postseason Luster For Baseball Fans

A Major League Baseball season lasts a long time. Very few fans are able to watch all 162 games that their favorite team plays. With day games and night games, weekend games and weekday games, the thought of watching a team religiously is nearly impossible.

Cup of Coffee: Part 5

This segment is taking forever, but I’m having a good time so I’m going to stick with it.  Here we go, part five.

Phillies-Dodgers: Philly Destroys L.A., 10-4, Heads Back to World Series

Like I said last week, if Chase Utley doesn’t beat you, then Ryan Howard will. If Howard doesn’t beat you, then Raul Ibanez will. And if none of those guys beat you, Jayson Werth will.
Last night, Werth smacked two HRs and drove in four runs as the Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the Los Angeles Dodgers, 10-4, to advance to their second straight World Series.

At some point I am going to realize that I shouldn’t keep betting against the Phillies.

Why the San Francisco Giants Should Say Goodbye to Edgar Renteria

It isn't difficult to pick out who doesn't belong in this foursome. It's Edgar Renteria.

Rich Aurilia was and always will be a fan favorite, spending his most productive seasons in San Francisco where he spent 12 of his 15 major league seasons. In 2001, Aurilia led the Giants with 206 hits and hit a career high 37 home runs. He was a staple of the great Giants teams in the late 90's and early 00's, playing a huge role on the 2002 World Series team.

The Men in Black

One star has taken over the headlines and drawn all the attention on themselves this post-season. It’s not Alex Rodriguez, not Ryan Howard…I’m talking about the umpires.

Manny Ramirez's Shower in Ninth Inning Merits Closing the Gates of Mannywood

If you want to know what Jimmy Rollins's walk-off double looked like from the Dodgers’ bench, don’t ask Manny Ramirez for his vantage point.

"Actually, I was in the shower," Ramirez said. “I only saw the highlight.”

This was the gross response of Ramirez when asked what his thoughts were about Jimmy Rollins' walk-off double.

Highlight?

You do realize that hit sealed your team's defeat and put them one game away from elimination, right?

Rollins wins it, Charlie calls it!

PHILADELPHIA- The Phillies proved again last night that you can never give up on this team, coming from behind to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 at a frigid Citizens Bank Park.

The mood on Broad and Pattison, last night, was solemn and quiet as the fans predicted a plane ride back to Los Angeles would be inevitable, as the Dodgers handed the ball to closer Jonathan Broxton, who’s 98-101 MPH fastball has devastated opposing hitters this season.

LA Dodgers Make the Right Call by Signing GM Ned Colletti

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Tuesday afternoon that they are extending the contract of general manager Ned Colletti.

The terms of the agreement were not available, except that it would be a multi-year deal.

"It's a long-term deal and I'll be here for a long time and maybe here for longer than that," said Colletti.

In his four-year tenure as general manager, Colletti has guided the Dodgers to the playoffs three out of four seasons, and helped the team capture back-to-back division titles for the first time since 1977-78.
