Could new closer Mitchell Boggs be a saving grace for the Cardinals? 

I reserve the right to answer my own question in my own time. Maybe I will answer somewhere in this article.

He doesn’t throw Hail Mary passes, wear religious articles of clothing or pretend to be as righteous as the pope, but he could be a savior for the Redbirds when they get in tight ninth innings.

What's wrong with Jason Heyward?  He hasn't reached base in his last four games.  Wednesday night against the Dodgers he struck out three times.  However, the short answer is that nothing's wrong.

We all knew coming into this season that the Braves' pitching was going to be solid. But we also felt like that the offense was going to improve. With this combination, the Braves were thought to be one of the best teams in the NL. Well, at the moment, only one of those beliefs has come true.

It took all of last season and the first few days of this one for it to happen, but the LA Angels are finally back in contention.

Well, it was obvious last year after only a couple of games that the team was DOA.

The reason for the turnaround is simple: talent.

I can't believe the way this MLB season keeps "flip-flopping" itself.  We've already seen a lot of surprises, coming in the forms of Boston's struggles and Cleveland's amazing performance.  There have been hot starts, like that of the Rangers and the Reds and heart breaks—Josh Hamilton being the prime example. 

Over the last decade, there have been many Major League Baseball teams that inspired the feeling for a split second that you could have made a career off that .300 average you carried in the Frankfort Dixie Youth League. 

To reflect upon the latest trend of contraction that has been spread lately, specifically with the article yesterday which suggested that Major League Baseball eliminate two teams (Eliminate Florida and Seattle), I figure there needs to be a better approach to the issue at hand about contraction.

It's been a rough start to the season for the two-time defending American League Central champions.

The injury bug has hit the Twins big time already, and players who are healthy have done little to pick up the slack from those injured.

With the 6-12 start to the season, the Twins are looking to win ballgames any way possible, and that should include looking into moving some players.

Ahead are four moves I feel the Twins have to make by season's end to be competitive, not just this season, but in years to come.

Next season—the year of the new ballpark—was supposed to be the year the Florida Marlins would start making some serious noise.

The players and coaches apparently didn’t get that memo as the fish have won five of their last six to improve to 10-6 on the season. Their record would be good for a wild-card playoff birth if the season ended today.
