Hank Steinbrenner indirectly called out Yankees captain Derek Jeter and his newly constructed mansion on Monday.

Steinbrenner implied the team was not focused in 2010 and was hungover from its 2009 World Series championship, saying: “Some of the players are too busy building mansions and other things and not concentrating on winning.”

The key to the Yankees' success in 2011 will be their starting rotation.

Included in the rotation are a few young guns and seasoned veterans.

Ultimately, this combination will have to work for the Yanks to compete with the Red Sox in 2011.

The offseason plan failed, as waiting for Cliff Lee backfired, leaving the Yankees in shambles, not knowing where to turn.

A few minor signings on pitchers such as Mark Prior, Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon could be low-risk, high-reward signings.

Anyway, here is a look at the projected 2011 rotation.

Spring training is now in full swing for all 32 major league teams. With spring training brings a new sense of optimism for all teams and the hope that everything will go their way, possibly even ending with a World Series title.

Despite this optimism, there are a few teams that are just head and shoulders above the curve talent-wise. My predictions for the 2011 season, as far as division winners and the playoffs, are as follows.

Joe Mauer has good reason not to believe in the "Cover Jinx."

After winning the 2009 American League Most Valuable Player Award, the Twins catcher was featured on the cover of MLB 10: The Show. While he didn't win the MVP again last year, Mauer hit .327, won his third Gold Glove and took home his fourth Silver Slugger Award.

The average salary of a major league player at the beginning of the 2010 season was $3,340,133.

A full 2010 World Series share for each winning San Francisco Giants' player was $317,631.29. A loser's full share was $246,279.55 for each Texas Rangers' player that received a full share.

Jimmy Rollins has transformed into a huge fan favorite in Philadelphia over the past few years with the team. However, after an increase in injuries and a decrease in numbers, is his time in Philadelphia coming to an end?

Rollins has a lot to prove in the upcoming 2011 season. Known for making his bold team predictions, Rollins might want to focus more on himself this season rather than the team.  

With all of the hype and expectations surrounding this Philadelphia Phillies team, we can't say we didn't expect this insane media coverage. That being said, it seems like anything that the Phillies' rotation (insert catchy nickname) does is newsworthy.

Let's face it: The economy isn't getting any better. Gas prices are going way up and the jobs market still stinks, regardless of what Mr. Obama is telling you.

How can we not start with Bobby Bonilla?  Good old Bobby Bo from the Bronx.  With that fake smile that only a used car salesman could love! 

David Wright is well on his way to becoming one of the best hitters the New York Mets have ever seen.

He has already set a number of franchise records, and he may have another eight or nine years ahead of him.

 With apologies to Helen Gurley Brown who wrote the book, "Sex and the Single Girl" in 1962, (which was not only groundbreaking but also considered quite taboo and provocative, especially considering it was the Feel-Good '60's) my version is much tamer.
