MLB Trade Rumors: Five Prospects the L.A. Dodgers Will Not Sacrifice

With the MLB trade deadline just over two weeks away, Dodgers' general manager Ned Colletti is scrambling to make the best possible roster moves in an effort to mold together a playoff contending squad for 2010.

It's been speculated that financial resources are limited, and outside of several underperforming relievers and a few substandard bench players, Los Angeles really doesn't want to sacrifice talent at the Major League level in order to obtain that missing piece of the puzzle that puts them over the top.

However, the Dodgers' farm system remains one of the most productive in baseball,

MLB Trade Rumors: Blue Jays All-Star Catcher John Buck to Red Sox?

Busy as Blue Jays Catcher John Buck was collecting his first hit as an All-Star, he still found time to discuss his former teammate, David DeJesus, with WEEI's Alex Speier yesterday in Anaheim. Put bluntly, Buck thinks DeJesus would perform tremendously with the Red Sox or another playoff contender.

Little does Buck realize that he may be playing in Beantown just as quickly as Kansas City's much-discussed outfielder. Perhaps they'll reunite at Fenway.

Listing the Triple Crown Candidates

NFL betting players don’t have to worry about crowning a Triple Crown winner, but in Major League Baseball, the Triple Crown is a big deal.  Here’s a look at five players who have the chance to write their names in baseball history.

MLB Trade Rumors: 10 Trades No One's Talking About

That didn't take long.

Just hours after the 2010 MLB All-Star Game finished, the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves made a swap that involves Yunel Escobar going to Canada and Alex Gonzalez taking over short in Atlanta.

With two more players off our list, here are a few that are likely to move in the next two weeks who may not be getting the same attention Cliff Lee was just one week ago.

MLB Trade Rumors: 5 Teams Interested in Trading for Adam Dunn

The Major League Baseball trading deadline grows closer by the day, and one of the hottest names burning up the hot stove is Nationals slugging first baseman Adam Dunn.

So far, the rumors surrounding Dunn have been sketchy at best. Also, there is some hesitancy as to the legitimacy of rumors considering Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo recently came out and said it would take an "extraordinary deal" to Dunn get out of D.C.

While that may be the case, there are five teams who are still going to try and boost their lineup with Dunn's big bat.

MLB First Half Analysis: The Enigma That Is Daisuke Matsuzaka

For Daisuke Matsuzaka, the hype was unavoidable.

If it wasn't the $51 million posting bid that the Red Sox gave to the Seibu Lions, Matsuzaka's Japanese team until 2006, just to have the opportunity to negotiate a contract, it was the rumors of the dynamic stuff that Daisuke possessed.

Reports even surfaced regarding his ability to throw a legendary pitch known as the gyroball.

Fast forward almost three and a half years, and the general perception of Matsuzaka is very different.

Matsuzaka's time in Boston has been anything but consistent.

Changes Looming: The Future of Major League Baseball

Bud Selig must wonder what the future has in store for him and MLB, after all there are many things that come up and will continue to come up in discussions such as Instant Replay, Inter-league Play, Performance Enhanching drugs issues, Realignment was something in pondered back in March, All-Star Game, and so on. I certainly don't expect any major changes to happen for the rest of Bud Selig's tenure unless he wants to go out with a bang and make some last minute changes sort of like how a lame-duck President does pardons right as he hands to keys off to the next guy.

MLB All-Star Game: Will Pitching Win This Year's Midsummer Classic?

This years Midsummer Classic is filled with great talent from both leagues. However, one of the biggest differences that the two leagues have are the pitchers available to them.

The National League have the edge in the pitching department. They possess the best pitchers in the game at the moment, but will that win them the ball game?

I say yes it will.

Both teams have great lineups and I really can't say that one teams offense is better than the others.

MLB Trade Rumors: Could the St. Louis Cardinals Trade Albert Pujols?

Albert Pujols' 2011 free agency is quietly tunneling its way into the subconscious of every person in St. Louis, creating an anxiety for Cardinal fans that comes with the idea of losing their most coveted player.

To many St. Louisans, the term "Albert Pujols trade" would sound like nothing more than a stupid joke or poorly executed April Fools prank.

But to the Cardinals faithful , trading the nine-time All-Star seems logical.

New York Yankees: How Pitching Will Win a Championship

The Yanks enter the 2010 All-Star break with the best record in baseball and are on pace for 103 victories. But the big news in Yankeeland this past week was the non-trade for Cliff Lee. Since that deal fell through, ESPN Insider is reporting that a Yanks deal for Cubs starting pitcher Ted Lilly “has legs.” What I don’t understand is the Yanks’ sudden obsession with starting pitching. Yes, yes, there are those old pitching adages:

Pitching wins championships.
You can never have enough pitching.
